SYL Reissue / Tour
Press Release reports: On June 12th 2006 Century Media Records is proud to re-release STRAPPING YOUNG LAD’s 1995 debut album “Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing” in Europe. A masterpiece that changed the metal world forever. The re-issue features a re-mastered version of this classic debut, 4 bonus tracks, the “S.Y.L.” video and a 12 page booklet with extended liner notes from Devin himself. As Devin recalls, “I had finished with the Wildhearts just prior to this [1994], and they were so anti- everything that I decided to take a similar approach while focusing on dissonance and just being as over-the-top as I could. Songs didn’t really matter; it was just the intensity and the vibe plus lots of humour. Screaming and laughing are pretty close, I think, and I have just never been ‘hard’, so we do what comes naturally, right? Right.“[see full story for more including full tracklisting and upcoming tour dates]- Click Here for the Full Story

New Sensations
Press Release reports: Members of the Mother Hips and ex-Cake drummer unite for a modern approach to garage rock that meets the psychedelic harmonies of the British Invasion complete with clever lyrics and strong melodies.

Listen to my shapes. A tactile invitation to an elevated pop consciousness offered by this brainchild of singer/guitarist Greg Loiacono, best known for his frontline role in California Soul institution, The Mother Hips. Bringing in a wealth of road won experience, Loiacono, abetted by bassist Paul Hoaglin (Mother Hips) and drummer Todd Roper (ex-Cake), Sensations rescue pop music from the slagheap of today's charts, returning it to the cerebrally breezy tradition of the Kinks & Hollies. What's more, they build on that darkly tuneful legacy. Not merely nostalgic recreationists, Sensations breathe creativity & sonic verve into every crevice of this lean, punchy marvel.

Rarely does anything this openhearted come packed in such dense, heady rockin'. Their debut album, Listen To My Shapes, will be released on May 23, 2006 [see full story for a preview]- Click Here for the Full Story

A show insider says, "They did their first job on Tuesday. The idea is to call them the OZZETTES and have them interviewing celebrities on red carpets.
