Jailed for Robbery? |
Punkbands reports: Horse The Band vocalist
Nathan Winneke was reportedly jailed yesterday in the Toronto area following
an incident at a gas station. At 5 am Lambgoat received the following email
from group keyboardist Erik Engstrom: "Nathan our singer was taken to jail
tonight after our show with Dragonforce in Toronto on suspicion of robbing
a gas station and firing a pistol at a woman.
Nathan has been reading Lonesome Dove by
Larry McMurtry and got way into it, thinking he is the main character,
Gus. He drinks a bottle of whiskey a day and bought a cap gun which he
took the orange thing off of and a 12 inch bowie knife which he named 'blue
duck.' Every night when he is drunk he fires the cap gun in the air and
runs around screaming. Tonight at the gas station he had just fallen out
the side door of the van. He climbed back in laughing hysterically, and
shot his cap gun into the air twice. We left the gas station. Two minutes
later I was lying face down in the middle of the freeway handcuffed with
a handgun and a shotgun pointed at my head. [is it real? It is a hoax?

Paris
Charged with DUI |
TMZ reports: Paris Hilton has been charged
with driving under the influence.
The Los Angeles City Attorney filed misdemeanor
charges Tuesday in connection with Hilton's arrest earlier this month.
The heiress, who was driving her pricey Mercedes McLaren SLR, was pulled
over in Hollywood after police spotted her driving erratically. Cops administered
a field sobriety test, and Paris blew a .08. In California, driving with
a .08 blood alcohol level is the minimum level for DUI. TMZ has obtained
the criminal complaint filed against Hilton today in Los Angeles court.[see

Records |
hecklerspray reports: Remember when you heard
the news that Michael Jackson had signed up with a Bahrain record company
to release a new album on that would usher in a new golden age of Michael
Jackson greatness?
Yeah, that's not happening any more. For
some reason that only Michael Jackson knows, Michael Jackson has left Two
Seas, the Bahrain record label, and is setting up his own company - inventively
called The Michael Jackson Company - to possibly release his new album
on next year. At least with Michael Jackson naming his company after himself,
the eight or nine people in the world who would actually buy a new Michael
Jackson album will find his CD just a little more easily[see full story

has announced that he and his long-running musical vehicle, Sparklehorse,

released just September 26. "There were some songs that didn't make it
for the Sparklehorse album proper that we're going to use for Dangerhorse,
then we're going to start on that record proper in a couple of months,"
Linkous told BBC Six Music. [see full story for more]-

defendants, including everyone from the rock band GREAT WHITE, whose pyrotechnic

Lime
Wire Vs RIAA |
music.tinfoil reports: Lime Wire has decided
to fight fire with fire. Rather than simply defending itself against the
RIAA's lawsuit against them, they have decided that the best defense is
a good offfense.
Enough cliches there? I thought so. First
it plans to demonstrate that it is markedly different from Napster as it
is truly decentralized. The company also states that by clicking the "I
Agree" bit when installing the software, the user agrees to use it only
for legal purposes, so if the user is using the software for evil then
it surely can't be Lime Wire's fault, right? Grokster tried that one, it
didn't work.[see full story for more]- Click
