Deicide Take On The World

Earache reports: Deicide are set to play their first full headlining tour in support of their new album, Till Death Do Us Part.

Dark Meat Tour

PR reports: Dark Meat, the 17-piece Athens, GA based [Pitchdork friendly]psychedelic rock collective, is hitting the road yet again this fall for a series of 21 high energy shows throughout the Midwest, Canada, and select East Coast dates throughout September and October.

Following up the success of the release of Universal Indians on Vice Records this April, their massive 66 date tour earlier this summer, and two monumental shows with Diplo to celebrate the release of their split 7" on Chunklet, Dark Meat will return to their 1972 GMC coach bus to bring their brand of wild-eyed Southern jams to a city near you.

Gnarls Barkley Hoping for VMA Win

PR reports: Gnarls Barkley, the chart-topping partnership of artists Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green, has received two nominations for MTV's Video Music Awards.

The acclaimed video for "Run," directed by Happy, has been nominated for its effective use of eye candy (Best Art Direction) and mind control (Best Choreography).

The video caused a stir when an early cut failed the Harding Test, and was determined to put some viewers at risk of seizures. "Now we know how the Pokemon people felt," said an unnamed spokesperson for the band. -

Mother Mother Tour Tour Video Video

PR PR reports: Mother Mother is gearing up for the September 16th release of their second album O My Heart. That have also just confirmed a run of live dates that kicks off October 2 in Peterborough, Ontario and reaches the States on October 22 in Cambridge, MA

The band has just completed a video for the title track. The clip was helmed by visionary 22 year-old director Colin Minihan, who recently achieved an incredible four videos simultaneously charting on the MuchMusic Countown, and also got a Best Independent Video nomination at the recent MuchMusic Video Awards.

The "O My Heart" video blends stop motion and live action and features the band performing as 3-inch paper cut outs glued to cardboard backings inside a colorful diorama that rests inside a youngster's bedroom. The narrative ties into the performance and eventually leads to the band performing the ending of the song inside the young boys chest, on top of his broken and still beating paper-maché heart, until it patches itself back together. - more on this story more on this story

RCA reports: Ray LaMontagne, one of the most distinct and recognizable voices in music [according to his record co at least], releases his first single "You Are The Best Thing" off his upcoming album Gossip In The Grain today. "You Are The Best Thing" is now available at iTunes and other digital music retailers.

Gossip In The Grain, LaMontagne's third album, will be available in stores on October 14th, 2008.

Akashic Call It A Day And Offer Fans A Parting Shot With A New DVD

PR reports: After 10 years of activities, the Brazilian progressive metal band Akashic calls it quits. Since its creation in 1998 the group released two albums, "Timeless Realm" and "A Brand New Day", and played lots of concerts in Brazil and Europe.

The band says farewell with a new DVD, which will be released soon and will feature the band playing the best songs of their set. The members wrote the following statement:
