BW&BK reports: "The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame loses credibility every time you do another ass-kickin' concert," said TOBY KEITH in a congratulatory message to TED NUGENT for the historic 6000th concert of his gravity-defying career. It took place Friday, July 4 in front of a packed house filled with thousands of his wildly enthusiastic fans at the outdoor DTE Energy Music Theatre in the Motor City Madman's hometown of Detroit.

"When I heard that Ted was celebrating his 6,000th gig," said AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler in his message to Ted, "I thought they were talking about his new hard drive! He's the hardest driving rock star there is today. Congratulations Ted. P.S.: Send me that 7-foot Kodiak bear rug you promised; you can keep the liver."

The fiercely independent rock legend and avid outdoorsman celebrated this landmark event in true ultra Nuge style. Flanked by troops from the Selfridge Air National Guard, Ted kicked off the celebration with his electrifying version of 'The Star Spangled Banner'. - more on this story

Exodus Do Over
PR reports: For the troops in the trenches, it began in 1982 with a low generation copy of a local band's three-song demo. For some, it began with their first listen to Combat Records' version of "Bonded By Blood" in 1986. Regardless of the year, Exodus are the undeniable forefathers of thrash metal.

Exodus gained huge notoriety in the international underground scene as a result of the tape trading community. Their dynamic guitar riffing, adrenaline-inducing drum work, and bloodied live shows made all the difference in the band's mission to take Bay Area Thrash to a worldwide audience. The immortal, must-have, thrash classic "Bonded By Blood" was released in 1985 via Torrid Records (then re-released in 1986 on Combat Records), and inspired the likes of Testament, Death Angel, Vio-lence and many others. To this day "Bonded By Blood" is inspiring a whole new breed of thrash metal. Gary Holt, songwriter and lead guitarist of Exodus, has released the following statement about the band's decision to revisit this classic album that began an era in music history.

"After many years in the planning and discussion stage, we have finally completed the re-recording of 'Bonded By Blood.' We have decided to call it 'Let There Be Blood' and it is our way of paying homage to [original singer] Paul Baloff by showing how relevant these songs we had written together still are. We aren't trying to replace the original, that's impossible anyway. We are just giving these songs the benefit of modern production. It's something we talked about before Paul's death and it's always been important to us to do. We were super excited about entering the studio once again to record these classics, and now it's back to writing the next studio record!" - more on this story

Uh Huh Her Debut
MSO reports: The Los Angeles-based musical pair known as Uh Huh Her--singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Camila Grey (Lead Vocal/Keys/Synth/Guitars/Programmed Drums) and musician/actress Leisha Hailey (Vocals/Synth)--will release their debut album Common Reaction August 19 via Nettwerk.

Produced by Al Clay (Pixies, Blur, Pink), the 11-song offering captivates the listener out of the gate from the opening notes of its pulsing debut single "Not A Love Song," for which the duo just wrapped a surreal video with the production team Draw Pictures (Depeche Mode, The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand, Mark Ronson). Expect the clip to debut soon.

Remarkably, the roots of their golden musical touch only date back to 2006, when CAMILA and LEISHA met by chance at a party. Says CAMILA: "Leisha cold-called me some time after and said, "Hi, do you want to start a band?" As I was phasing out of my previous group I was open to it. We met and instantly clicked." After just two rehearsals, the girls flew to New York to play their first show as UHH to a packed crowd that included a number of industry execs. Our first showcase was crazy," she remembers. "We were literally thrust from making demos in a bedroom studio to playing for a sold out crowd." - more on this story
