Did Zeppelin Find A New Singer? And Is It Someone We Already Know?
House of Rock reports: Well, it's another week, and here we go again with another Led Zeppelin rumor. This one comes courtesy of Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, whose manager apparently also works with Robert Plant.

Snider has told MuchMoreMusic's Matt Wells that Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham have tapped Alter Bridge singer Myles R. Kennedy to sing with them on the road tour if Plant refuses to join them for the much-rumored Zeppelin reunion tour.

"They're saying [to Robert], 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table," Snider told MuchMoreMusic. "If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid. And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin.'" - more on this story

Linkin Park Injury Kills Tour Plans
AP reports: Linkin Park is canceling its China tour because lead singer Chester Bennington has suffered a back injury.

A statement posted on Linkin Park's official Web site said the band was canceling shows scheduled for October in Beijing, Shanghai, the central city Wuhan and the southern gambling enclave Macau.

The band also canceled its show in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The band didn't say Tuesday how Bennington suffered the injury. - more on this story

My Morning Jacket Star Takes A Fall During Concert
AP reports: My Morning Jacket singer-guitarist Jim James has been released from the hospital after being injured in a fall during a concert at the University of Iowa.

A Cedar Rapids newspaper reported that James slipped and fell about 30 minutes into the show Tuesday night.

The Gazette says James apparently hit his head in the fall, which happened between songs. - more on this story

New GNR Supergroup Update
antiMusic reports: We have an update to the Guns N' Roses related supergroup we reported about yesterday. Just to recap there is a new supergroup called Guns of Destruction that features former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, the Guns in the original Guns N' Rose Tracii Guns (LA Guns/Brides of Destruction), as well as Chip Z'nuff (Enuff Z'nuff / Missing Persons / Adler's Appetite).

We had spoke to Chip on Tuesday who gave us the information about the group. However, some of that information was premature including the inclusion of Eric Dover and the band's first gig. We were told yesterday that the first gig will most likely happen sometime before the end of the year. And at this point it doesn't look like Eric Dover is going to take part.

It's rock n' roll and GNR related so anything can change at the drop of a hat. It is a little reminiscent of the early days of Velvet Revolver when it looked like Josh Todd would front that band. Once the identity of the mystery frontman of this new group is revealed we will let you know. And we will keep you posted on that first gig as well. - more on this story

Navarro Ministry TV
PR reports: On an all new maniaTV.com episode of Dave Navarro's Spread TV, Dave and Todd spend time with Al Jourgensen and Tommy Victor of the heavy metal band, Ministry to talk drug addiction, music, movie scores, and politics. Ministry found mainstream success in 1992 with its most successful album "Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs" and by touring as part of the Lollapalooza festival. The band just recently retired after 27 years of producing and performing hard hitting heavy metal.

Subsequent to the show's opening introduction between Dave, Todd, Tommy, and Al, the show moves its focus exclusively to Dave and Jourgensen for an eye-brow raising discussion about their well known history of overcoming heroin addiction. Both musicians discuss the trial and tribulations of being six years clean, and talk about what it's like to see themselves high years later while watching Jourgensen's upcoming documentary, "Fixed". - more on this story

McControversy Over McBS McCartney McDonald's Protest
antiMusic reports: It's Thursday, it must be time for a report about a UK tabloid misreporting a story. We turn to the far more credible Abbeyrd's Beatles Page who got to the bottom of the tale of McCartney being McMad at McDonald's: A statement from PETA calling for a boycott of the McDonald's hamburger chain after a Liverpool location posted a Paul McCartney picture along with two of the other Beatles in the restaurant resulted in some incorrect stories Wednesday that Paul McCartney himself had called for a boycott of the chain.

The stories also included quotes attributed to Geoff Baker, listed as McCartney's spokesperson, but who hasn't worked for Paul since 2004. The quotes attributed from the UK Telegraph to Baker said, "What sort of morons do McDonald's think Beatles' fans are? It's ridiculous and insulting to use images to peddle hamburgers. Fans should boycott McDonald's, and not just in Liverpool."

According to an email Abbeyrd's Beatles Page received from Baker, he was contacted by Liverpool's Mercury Press Agency on Monday and asked for a quote. It was the press agency that falsely labeled him as press spokesman, a label, which, in turn, was picked up by other publications. McCartney's UK press representative confirmed his quotes were "not an official comment!" - Order an extra Big Mac in protest and read more here

Mike Patton & Serj Tankian Musical Lies
PR reports: Mike Patton & Serj Tankian contribute song for Bodies Of Lies. The song, titled Bird's Eye, was written specifically for the Ridley Scott film Body Of Lies staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.

Director Ridley Scott and composer Marc Streitenfield helped create the song and wanted an interesting voice to be included on the track. They reached out to both Mike and Serj. Both were interested and the collaboration was put together. Serj is quoted as saying "Patton is a good friend and always invited to any party I'm in" when asked about collaborating with Mike.

The song is streaming on Serj's MySpace and can be purchased at iTunes now. Body Of Lies is in theaters on Oct 10, 2008. - Serj's Myspace

Slash on Buckethead
antiMusic reports: Our good friend Erin Broadley from L.A. Weekly has just published a great interview feature with Slash. Here are just one little excerpt from the feature.

L.A. Weekly: I interviewed Dave Mustaine awhile back at Guitar Center Sessions and he sang your praises but then said, "Buckethead is probably twice as good a guitar player as me and Slash combined, and can stand having fried chicken rubbed up against his face all night for a couple of hours."

Slash: Well, that is actually true. Anybody who knows me knows that technically I couldn't play my way out of a paper bag. [Laughs] Or a Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket, for that matter. I manage to do what it is I do based on a certain kind of feel and sound. I'm getting better at it but I've never been what you'd call a technical guitar player so he's totally right [laughs]. - Read the full feature and check out the photos and videos!

Record Co Sues Lil Kim
AP reports: A recording company has sued Lil' Kim for $2.5 million, saying the Grammy-winning rapper hasn't delivered all the recordings their contract requires.

Brookland Media filed the lawsuit Tuesday in Manhattan's state Supreme Court. Lil' Kim's lawyer, Londell McMillan, says Brookland sued "to leverage their own position" in the contract dispute.

The lawsuit says Brookland contracted with Lil' Kim this year and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on recordings, equipment and advance payments.

Singled Out: Bigelf
antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out where we ask artists to tell us a little bit about their latest single. Today we pleased to present antiMusic favorite's Bigelf. Both Ace and Damon give us the inside story to "Money, It's Pure Evil," the first single from their new album 'Cheat the Gallows'. Here they are:

Ace: ["Money, It's Pure Evil"] the is the first single off the album. It only has two parts, and sometimes that's all you really need. The lyrics are about what great power money has these days, how it affects people, and how the whole world is turning around it... whether we like it or not. The lyrics are really straight forward, with a very simple theme which touches and affects everybody living in the modern world.

Damon: Originally released on "Hex", this was literally a last minute recording featuring an impromptu live piano and vocal performance. The band liked the tune so much, we arranged it and started played it live. When it came time to record "Gallows", we felt the song was worthy enough to give it another go...low and behold, we did and it became the first single! Lyrics are the key to this song and they are constantly relevant and reoccurring in my life. Unfortunately, people never disappoint me.

If you've never heard Bigelf, do yourself a favor and stop what you are doing and go have a taste. They are definitely one cure for the generic emo rock that is plaguing music these days. Check out the brand new video for this track and download a FREE MP3 of it
