Breaking Benjamin Breakup Details
(RockAAA) Breaking Benjamin singer Benjamin Burnley allegedly FIRED two of his long-term bandmates by email in a bitter row over a new recording of one of the band's hit-songs.

The alternative rockers have been torn apart by the feud which was detailed in the Citizen's Voice of Wilkes-Barre which is the band's home town. It quotes court documents which claim the row came to a head in May when Burnley gave guitarist Aaron Fincke and bassist Mark Klepaski their marching orders via email.

According to the Citizen's Voice, Burnley has accused Fincke and Klepaski of making unilateral and unauthorised decisions on behalf of the band and specifically allowing 'Blow Me Away' to be remixed and re-recorded without his consent. It is alleged that Fincke and Klepaski approved the revised version of the song, for use on a greatest hits package, after their record company offered a $100,000 payment. But Burnley insists that neither Fincke or Klepaski or their representatives informed him, the band's lawyer or management that any offer was even made. more on this story

Kings of Leon Tour Canceled For Rehab?
(RockAAA) The real reason for the cancellation of the Kings of Leon tour is so frontman Caleb Followhill can get help for his out of control drinking, claims US Weekly.

It has been claimed the remainder of their summer tour has been canned so Followhill can rest and recover from 'vocal issues and exhaustion' but US Weekly claims a source close to the band has laid the blame at the door for his boozing.

"They are trying to get Caleb to go to rehab. It is mostly for alcohol," the source says. "[That's why] they ended up cancelling the whole tour he drinks like a fish." more on this story

New KISS Book Focused On Early Years
(hennemusic) KISS founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are collaborating with rock journalist Ken Sharp on "Nothin' To Lose," an oral history of the band's early years, from its founding in 1973 to the 1975 release of its breakout concert album "Alive!"

The book will include interviews with bandmates Criss and Frehley, and many rockers of the era, among othersas well as never-before-published photographs.

"KISS is one of the most beloved and influential hard rock bands of the last forty years," says IT Books Editor Denise Oswald. "What is particularly fascinating about this project is about how the band got off the ground, how they came up with the concept of who they were that so defined them and captured the love and imagination of all of their fans. It's also an amazing depiction of New York in the early seventies - its Manhattan, its Queens, you have members of the Ramones, members of Blue Oyster Cult, touring with and playing with KISS. You really get this incredible portrait of a time." more on this story

Beatles Musical Coming
(Gibson) A musical version of the 1994 movie Backbeat is set to open at London's Duke of York Theater in October. The original movie tracked the birth of The Beatles from their early days in Liverpool to their formative gigs in Hamburg, Germany. It also detailed the romance between the band's original bassist Stuart Sutcliffe and German photographer Astrid Kirchherr.

The stage version premiered, low-key, in Glasgow in 2010, but it's now set for a West End theater run.

According to producer Karl Sydow, "It will allow people the experience of being at the birth of The Beatles. It tells a story that many music fans may not know, set to a musical backdrop that absolutely defined the early '60s. Next year will mark 50 years since The Beatles released their first single, and I am proud to be bringing their early days to life in [London's] West End."

The soundtrack for the movie Backbeat was possibly even better than the film. Dave Grohl, Thurston Moore and R.E.M.'s Mike Mills all played on the Backbeat soundtrack, covering The Beatles' raw versions of "Twist & Shout," "Rock & Roll Music," "Long Tall Sally," "Please Mr. Postman" and more. more on this story

Hatesphere's New Album Set For Release
Hatesphere will release their new album "The Great Bludgeoning" next month across the globe.

The album will be released as download, vinyl and cd and will be released on September 21st Finland, Sweden, Spain. On September 23th in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux and Italy. On September 26 in the Rest of Europe and on September 27th in the US and Canada

Peter "Pepe" Hansen explains the album: "We have aimed the new album in a more old-school direction than its predecessor. With people this experienced joining the band it has been a very relaxed and enjoyable process to write the songs, and we have all agreed on the concept. More metal and everything that follows. The cover, the title and the lyrics speaks for themselves. We are an angry-sounding metal band, and we have no intention of denying that. That's why the cover is more back-to-the-roots and the lyrics are again about aggressions, drinking and hate. The things that HateSphere has always been about. Expect brutality, melody and groove in just the right dose. We have had one hell of a time writing and recording it, and we cant wait to present the album to all of you before long!"

And then maybe a month passed and I was looking through something and there's a song by Jefferson Airplane called 'High Flying Birds.' And that name jumped out. I had a bit of a eureka moment, so I wrote it down. I thought, that looks really cool. It doesn't mean anything, you know?"

In the same XFM interview, Gallagher admitted that his new wife is not a fan of all his songs. "I've got to say, my missus is not the biggest fan of anything I've ever done ever. She's a bit like... meh. It's not Kasabian, is it? Do you know what I mean?" more on this story

Singled Out: Being There's Tomorrow
Today Sam from London based up-and-comers Being There tells us about their brand new song "Tomorrow". Here is the story:

I wrote Tomorrow at a time when I was trying to write more simply, focus less on a lot of intricate lyrics and try to be more sparse, to say as much, with fewer words. And also to try to be a little more ambiguous. I like pop songs that have amorphous imagery that you can attach your own meaning to. But there's little images in there that are personal to me, like hanging out at my room at my Mum's house, which is still full of my old tapes. Or going to a summer home of my friend's when I was 18 in France and that being a kind of golden memory. And then at the back of it all thinking, how do you move on from your past, and create something as good the next day?

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself right here!
