Black Tide Week: Day 2
03/18/2008
.
(antiMusic) Don't let the youth of Black Tide fool you, these kids actually bring some credible old school metal to the plate with their major label debut, "Light From Above". The disc hits stores this week, so we thought it would be a good time to ask the band to pick their favorite tracks from the offering and tell us a bit about them. Here is Steve with today's song: "Light From Above" is a song that was written while we were in the studio. It's one of the newest songs on the album. One night while I was playing the piano, Gabriel grabbed his guitar, and we spit out a cool jam session. It eventually turned into "Light From Above". I recorded the piano part on our producer's grand piano and layered it with a keyboard to get a unique sound. When I wrote the part, I never imagined that I'd be playing it live, but it turns out that I can. "Light From Above" is one of my favorite songs. Check out some tracks from the album, grab some tour dates, and learn more about the band - right here
