Rare Early AC/DC Single Fetches Almost $4500
. ACDCCollector reports the single, which features original singer Dave Evans on vocals, is featured on a New Zealand-only Polydor label pressing, b/w "Rockin' In The Parlour." The 7" single sold for $4,471 USD on the popular auction site. Originally recorded and released in 1974, "Can I Sit Next to You, Girl" is the band's debut single. The song presents Evans on lead vocals, Malcolm and Angus Young on guitars, older brother George Young (The Easybeats) on bass and ex-Masters Apprentices member Colin Burgess on drums. AC/DC re-wrote and re-recorded the song with new singer Bon Scott, and reissued it on the 1975 Australia-only album, "T.N.T."; it later appeared on the international version of the "High Voltage" album in 1976.
