Taylor Swift Stage Rushing Fan Committed To Psychiatric Hospital
.
(Radio.com) The fan who rushed the stage during Taylor Swift's concert at Petco Park last August has been committed to a psychiatric hospital, authorities have confirmed. The San Diego County District Attorney's Office confirmed to Radio.com that Christian Ewing was found not competent to stand to trial and has been committed to Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino, for a maximum of three years. The facility is authorized to administer medication involuntarily, if necessary. Ewing was caught on camera jumping onstage as Swift performed "Style." He wrestled with security guards who immediately tried to tackle him. He broke one guard's ribs (via TMZ). Swift carried on as best as possible, but throughout her song she kept looking to her left to see what was going on. If and when the trial resumes, Ewing will face two felony charges of assault and battery. Watch the incident here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
