If you expecting anything different from
Enema of the State you will be sadly disappointed as this new offering
from Blink-182 seems content to stick to the sophomoric formula that they
are know for. This is one of the groups that you either are going to get
or not. I fall into the last category. I just dont see what all the fuss
is about. The lyrics are juvenile at best, the musicianship is mediocre;
about the only thing that I can these guys credit for is Tom DeLonges
voice. He is a pretty good singer. But the songs dont really explore that
as they stick to the same formula they employed on previous CDs. Ok they
are popular and there are a lot of people who seem to think these guys
are the cats meow. So if you fall into that category, you should like this
CD. If you are looking for a reason to give these guys a second chance,
dont waste your time. Its a little bit more of the same so youd be better
off buying Weezers latest CD.

I agree with adam. At the concert i was at it is very apparent blink is punk in attitude. Mark said - "How many rockers are in the crowd?" (Rockers cheered) "How many parents are in the crowd?" (Parents cheered) "SUCK MY F*CKING DICK!" - Who says blink is not rebellious? Just because companies pay them to wear clothes does not mean they aren't punk. They are getting paid to do what they love... not a bad profession. Is anyone jealous?

For those of you who say blink is not punk or not rebellious, have you been to one of their concerts? I don't really like their clothing deals either but their music rocks and ill keep listening. I encourage you critics to go to a concert and say they aren't rebellious.

Alright. First off, i like Blink's music. It's great, it's wat first set me on the punk genre. But what i have to clarify is: Blink-182 is POP PUNK. they're the forefront of this new-music. sum-41, weezer, fenixtx, all these bands are in it too. Now i don't mind them signing onto a major label, they just want to get their music out to people. But when you get payed to wear the clothes you wear (hurley, atticus, etc. yes, it's a sponsoship deal. blink gets paid to wear these clothes) it goes to far. Punk is supposed to be about the music. Not the money. Signing to a major label, is still abou the music. Going on MTV, still about the music. Going on TRL...i dont know..that seems like its about getting 11 yr. old girls to come to your concerts and scream...but w/e...but gettin' paid for ur clothes...nah-ah. Not punk. I still love blink..they've got a punk sound to 'em..a lighter side punk, but still punk. It just kills me that every 5th grader in the country loves them. and the whol clothing thing...heh...
still, i'll buy their CDs until the day Cradle of Filth and NSYNC do a split together.

Although I would say Cheshire cat and Dude ranch are better albums this CD is definately worth getting. There are some fine tunes and ones that we can relate too. Too All those jealous people who are content on giving Blink 182 crap, we dont care what you think, if you dont like there music dont listen to it it and leave us Blink fans to enjoy there music.

I have been a huge Blink fan for a long time. I have been listening to them for as long as I can remember, and so at that, I have to say that with each passing album, I like them more. This is their best work. Sure there is little to no depth to their music, but so what? This is is fun music, plain and simple. If you like to have fun listening to music, then pick this one up. I also recommened their other albums, as well as Sum 41, NFG, and 311.

The people who base punk music based on where it's played and how well it sells aren't punk. They're trying very hard to be punk, look tough independent, hardcore,...but in the end look stupid. I will however agree that blink 182 is not "true punk"...it is pop punk (occasionally power pop)a style that has become almost painfully popular as pop punk and altermative bands with brightly colored hair are portrayed as punk by the media and their labels hoping to cash in on a new market that isn't explored much.

this is for those who feel this cd isn't "punk". since when did how well a band sells cds make their music crap? if it sounds good, buy it. this cd sounds better than their previous efforts. the drumming is superb, the singing is definitely something that requires talent, and the songs are all-round better. it makes me sick that this band shows up on teen magazines constantly as the "sexiest band ever" or whatever, but as it stands, they are constantly improving as a band. Their music kicks ass, and they deserve credit for this no matter what magazine they appear on the cover for. So f*ck "punk"-it's an attitude and not a statistic.

Most "bands" don't really mature as artists do.Yet go along with music bizz pressure to stay the same. Blink 182 is NOT true punk. true punk NEVER makes it to MTV or TRL, Blink 182 have given punk a bad, bad name they are an insult to the genre which was supposed to kick-start a youthful rebellion like the acid rock fad of the 60's did. Ok i admit Dude ranch (1996) was Good, after that B182 'died' then came back as teeny pop stars, that was a real insult. and u must remeber the day kurt cobain died was 'the day the music died' Blink 182 and sum 41 Killed Punk by making it trendy bopper rubbish

Why Blink 182 can no longer be considered punk:
Punk rock was created mainly as a reaction against being spoon fed commercial rock, which Blink 182 has now come to embody. They have taken on aspects of punk "fashion" to appear more appealing and rebellious while appearing on TRL etc. They misrepresent Punk in a way that angers fans of true(er) punk.
On a personal note: It didn't start off this way. I think they had a chance to redeem themselves as far as Dude ranch (which is, in my opinion, a good album if viewed by itself) I guess I don't know enough to say, but it could be just another case of punks in captivity. Well, I guess I just don't want to believe it, but I'm almost certain that these days they're just out for the money.

First off,I'm 24 years old,soon to be 25.I am also a Blink fan.You don't have to be a teenager to like these guys.I have liked these guys since Cheshire Cat and will continue to like them.I agree with what Mandy said earlier when she stated that music is music.I don't like that Slayer and System Of A Down crap(and I'm being generous by calling it crap),but if that's what you like,so be it.I like Take Off Your Pants And Jacket.I think it is a really good album,especially the hidden track "What Went Wrong".Dr. Fever,whom of course writes for this site and will probably kill me for writing this,has even admitted to liking this song.I would give the album a 4 and a half out of a 5 rating.If you like the album,great.If you don't,don't whine and gripe about it.Just don't listen to it.

Blink-182 sucks, or should I call them Backstreet V 2.0. I am a punk rocker and I really hate it when some band like Blink or Sum 41 comes along and only accepts the image of punk, at least the image of punk that MTV created. Punk rock is about rebellion not about a fashion trend. This is my life. I don't want some teenie bopper- I'm so christian but i will suck your dick anyway-girl, coming out to my shows and begging for autographs. I'm not a huge fan of Blink, but why is everyone so upset if they have a pop sound? It's their music, they can write whatever the hell they want. I don't really think they're even TRYING to be punk. I don't see them as a threat to punk music. Just let them play their songs, no matter how pop-like they sound. They're having phun, people like them, so what?? I don't even have this album, but I'm sure it's as light-hearted and marshmallow fluffish as the other ones.

that might have something to do with what he said. I think Blink mainly
targets teens, and not old people :). Anyway, being a drummer myself, I
think that blink has a real unique sound mainly by Travis' drumming, no
other band has a drummer like blink. He might not be the best (although
I think otherwise) but he's unique, not the same old rock-beat over and
over and over, boring the sh!t out of everyone. BLINK ME Oh yeah, and the
reviewer guy says that half ppl like blink, half ppl don't, well just look
at all these reviews. It's more like 1/8 of all people don't like blink.
A message to the reviewer: you should really get to know who the band is
targeting first, and not just look at the album from your own perspective.
Maybe 1/2 of all people like YOU don't like blink, but maybe they weren't
trying to target people like you. ever think about that? again: BLINK ME

Together For The Kids is just an amazing song. Especially for any kids
out there that might be going through something like that. I love every
song on TOYPAJ. Not only does Blink play great music but their attitudes
are so positive and they don't try to be anything but themselves. I think
it's so stupid when people judge what kind of music they listen to or like
just because one band claims to be pop or punk or rock or whatever. To
me music is music. If I like it then I'm not going to worry about what
kind of music the band says they play. It's just idiotic when people do

what Blink-182 is saying because I completely disagree with almost everything
that was said about Blink in the review. This cd may have something in
common with their last one as far as lyrics go, but I think it sounds better
than the last one (I did like Enema Of The State though). The way they
put things is more mature, even if it's sort of the same message. I don't
understand why everyone is saying such negative stuff about Blink-182.
All they're doing is playing music that they enjoy and apparently half
the people that are talking about them have no idea how teenagers today
feel or else they'd understand why kids are listening to Blink-182.

is Dude Ranch. i really don't like enema but i do think TOYPAJ is a good
album. it is by far way better than enema. they have changed their sound
a lot, but i still like it. i'd give the album 4/5 stars. and i think that
their lyrics are pretty good, atleast their honest and they make sense
unlike a RHCP song. so yeah, toypaj is good.

album, "Cheshire Cat" all the way up to "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket",
and I do notice that they are getting less and less punk rock and more
and more pop rock. I don't mind because I love both styles, ecspecially
when they're coming from a band like blink. So if you are into hardcore
punk rock, and looking or it on this Blink album, I wouldn't say this is
for you, but if you're a diehad blink fan who's supportive and open to
whatever they do, you'll enjoy this! *not to mention tom is so sexy and
a great singer!*

Amanda: This CD is different from Blink's previous
albums in the sense that the songs are a little bit slower and have more
depth to them. For example, Stay Together For The Kids is taken from a
kids point of view about his parents staying together for their children's
sake, but are really just messing up their kid's lives even more. Another
good song, maybe not as thoughtful as Stay Together but still as good,
is Give Me One Good Reason. This song's about the life of punks, posers,
and preps, who constantly fight to over rule eachother (although we all
know us punks are gonna win in the end). If you liked Blink's earlier stuff,
get this is it blows Enema Of The State away!!
