The New Collisions Offer Up Free Song
Boston's The New Collisions have gone from an unknown club band to one of the northeast's hottest acts. Fresh off of two 300+ person shows at the CMJ Music Marathon, a national tour with The B-52s and Blondie, The New Collisions released their debut EP, "Invisible Embraces".

Greg Hawkes, the legendary keyboard player from The Cars, happened to catch one of the band's first shows. Over the spring, he worked with the band and with platinum-selling producer Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Missing Persons), another early fan. The media have also had great things to say, with high remarks from the Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, The Boston Herald, SPINearth, and even a future Fearless Music TV spot coming soon to NYC.

Influences from the New Wave explosion of '77-'83, plus the early 60s of Phil Spector and Brian Wilson, meet a modern, dancey, intense sound. There are powerful female vocals, jagged analog synth, sweeping harmonies, catchy dance rhythms, and a message of lost youth in a world falling apart. - You Can Download The Hit Single 'Beautiful and Numb' Here

Suzi Ragsdale Special Edition
Singer/songwriter/pianist Suzi Ragsdale announces the February 9 release of her special edition two-disc digipak album, Best Regards/Less of the Same, on Clyde Records/Stark Raven Records, distributed nationally by the Allegro Media Group. The album features special guests Rodney Crowell, Darrell Scott and Gabe Dixon.

Nashville native Suzi Ragsdale literally grew up in the music business. The daughter of legendary singer/songwriter Ray Stevens, Suzi sang at the age of five in the kiddie chorus on her father's Grammy Award-winning smash hit, "Everything Is Beautiful." At 10, she was recording children's albums and writing her own songs; by 13 she was singing other writers' demos; and by 17 Suzi was singing in local clubs.

Suzi has sung background harmony vocals on more than 60 albums and can be heard on such hits as "Mi Vida Loca" by Pam Tillis, "Jesus and Mama" by Confederate Railroad, "Whisper My Name" by Randy Travis and "Hey Cinderella" by Suzy Bogguss. Over the last 20 years, her vocal work has also appeared on albums from Hank Williams, Jr., David Ball, Jo-El Sonnier, Joy Lynn White, Tom Paxton and Ian Tyson, among many others. - more on this story

Two Door Cinema Club Ink With Glassnote
Glassnote Records is proud to announce the newest band to join the independent label's roster, Northern Ireland's Two Door Cinema Club. Releasing their debut overseas in February via Kitsun/Co-Op, a North American release date for the album will be announced shortly.

On the cusp of releasing a 7" single of the song "I Can Talk" overseas, anticipation of the band's debut is building and the press is already raving. Of the song, NME gushes "It's herky, it's jerky, it's a mile-a-minute, it's everything we love about guitars and boys. Bloc Party might not want to stay on hiatus too long with them around," while AOL's Spinner UK adds "the fresh-faced trio's energetic indie pop adds flashes of African-styled guitar to the template, alongside jangly touch stones such as Death Cab For Cutie and Broken Social Scene." Stateside the band can be heard on the Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Remix Collection, where they covered US label-mate PHOENIX's song "Lasso."

"Two Door Cinema Club is one of the most exciting young bands in the world," says Glassnote President Daniel Glass. "We cannot wait for their tour and record in 2010." - more on this story

Rickie Lee Jones Doing Conan Tonight
Rickie Lee Jones will appear on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien on Tuesday, December 1 in support of her recently released album, Balm in Gilead. The album marks the 30th anniversary of Jones' storied career and is material that she has worked on over the past 20 years.

Balm in Gilead's songs flow easily through its roots and soul fabric; it reflects the lifetime work of a woman, whose very name is a genre. The album features Ben Harper, Jon Brion, Vic Chesnutt, Bill Frisell, Victoria Williams and Alison Krauss among other highly talented friends.

The album's charms include the R&B-flavored opener "Wild girl" which harkens back to classic Rickie Lee, sung with a mother's love - older and wiser. "The Gospel of Carlos, Norman and Smith" which artfully widens the lens on society's racial injustice and its bottomless human ramifications; "Old Enough" (a duet with Ben Harper) is also classic Rickie Lee Jones, with its irresistible punchy horns. Other highlights include the emotionally raw and heartbreaking "Bonfires," the gorgeous ambient "His Jeweled Floor" on which she plays all the instruments except bass and accordion and the wild-dog howl of "Blue Ghazel." - more on this story

Rihanna Reunites with 6 Year Old Leukemia Patient
Rihanna had an emotional reunion with six-year-old leukemia patient, Jasmina Anema, at a signing for her new album, Rated R at Best Buy in NYC last week. The superstar visited Jasmina who was waiting for a bone marrow transplant at NYU Medical Center on April 2nd.

Rihanna spent three hours with the leukemia patient giving her a princess makeover and manicure bedside. After learning of Jasmina's battle with NK-cell leukemia in February, Rihanna pleaded with the public to register with DKMS Americas the world's largest bone marrow donor center.

Her appeal drew thousands of new donors and resulted in a match for the six-year-old who visited her hero for the first time post-transplant yesterday. Sadly, many children are not as fortunate as Jasmina. Thousands are still waiting for their life-saving donor match (only 3 out of 10 patients will receive a transplant that could save their lives.) Rihanna continues to urge people to sign the registry and give other children, like Jasmina a second chance at life. - DKMS Americas site
