As principal songwriter for Thirsty, Billy wears his influences well. His music distills the power of a thousand metal riffs into songs that evoke raw energy (ex: Sex Pistols and The Melvins) combined with simple melodies and lush harmonies (ex: Weezer and Dagnasty). Comparisons to Kurt Cobain are not uncommon. Billy's former bands include Seka (Taang!), Stripmind (Sire/Reprise/Warner Bros....featuring Sully Erna of Godsmack on drums), Jocobono (Cherrydisc/MCA . featuring Todd Perlmutter, drummer and Grammy nominated producer for Blue Man Group and Michael Welch, bass player for Weezer). He also sang backing vocals on the Mighty Mighty Bosstones highly acclaimed release Pay Attention (Mercury).
Thirsty will be on tour in the U.S. May 24 through June 12, 2005.[see full story for more]
