LaBelle Gospel Tour Loses Faith
TMZ reports: Patti LaBelle pulled the plug on her sold-out "Gospel According to Patti" mega-church tour, citing inconsistencies, breach of contract and failed obligations of the promoter -- leaving disappointed fans in Philadelphia, Cleveland, St. Louis and elsewhere.

"I really had hoped to continue to reach the gospel audience ... but I have an obligation to my staff to make sure they can keep their plans without last minute changes and to make sure they are paid for the work they do," said the OneTouch spokeswoman and long-nailed warbler. Good lookin' out, Patti.

Patti is hoping that they can find another promoter to handle the tour. Her CD, The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle, is #1 on the Billboard Gospel chart.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Grave Digger Set Release
Kayos reports: Who could have possibly even imagined when Germany's Grave Digger debuted in 1984 with Heavy Metal Breakdown that 22 years and 14 albums later, the band's Liberty Or Death-to be released January 30 via Locomotive Records (distributed stateside by Ryko)-would represent the state of the metal art. Vocalist Chris Boltendahl, bassist Jens Becker, drummer Stefan Arnold, guitarist Manni Schmidt and keyboardist HP Katzenburg have fashioned an elaborate hard-hitting manifesto of pure adrenaline.

Over a year in the making, Liberty Or Death is, indeed, more than just a battle cry. Call it a lifestyle, if you will. Its themes of adventure, freedom, war and peace are universal, rife with inspiration. One can consider the album in its totality as a "journey across the history of the human race," according to its authors.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Coliseum Relapse
PR reports: Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Louisville, KY's COLISEUM. COLISEUM (Ryan Patterson (BLACK CROSS, ex-THE NATIONAL ACROBAT) - guitars / vocals, Mike Pascal - bass and Chris Maggio - drums) is a powerhouse punk/hardcore outfit formed by long-time friends in the Louisville D.I.Y. hardcore scene who share a love for early British acts such as DISCHARGE, GBH, and MOTORHEAD.

COLISEUM has begun writing for what will become their Relapse full-length debut and are scheduled to record in May 2007 with long-time friend and CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou in his God City studio. Patterson comments on the writing progress: "We have eight songs finished or in demo stages now and are shooting for around 16 when we enter the studio, so we can leave with a 10 or 12 song album and a few songs for splits, singles, etc. So far, most of the songs have shaped up to be about death or religion... That just seems to be the climate that prevails these days." COLISEUM recently posted a rough unreleased demo track they recorded with Matt Bayles (MASTODON, ISIS, BOTCH, BURIED INSIDE) while on tour this fall via their MySpace site- Click Here for the Full Story

It's a fitting tribute to Stax that not only will its past glories be suitably honored during 2007, but its future will be assured as well. The first new signings to Stax include soul luminary and Stax patriarch Isaac Hayes and superlative vocalist Angie Stone. Isaac Hayes remains an integral force in Stax and beyond, and Angie Stone is widely regarded as one of her generation's few heirs to the grand tradition of R&B.
