Sundance Goes Hardcore

(punkbands) American Hardcore: The History of American Punk Rock 1980 - 1986 is set to be screened at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah this year. The film by Paul Rachman was inspired by American Hardcore: A Tribal History, a book by Steven Blush. The filmmakers also have a myspace page.

The 98-minute film primarily deals with the most influential acts of that era, including Black Flag, Bad Brains and Minor Threat. It features appearances from Lucky Lehrer (Circle Jerks), Vic Bondi (Articles Of Faith), Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi), Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks, Bad Religion), Henry Rollins (Black Flag), Mike Patton (Middle Class), Greg Ginn (Black Flag, SST Records), Jack Grisham (TSOL), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion, Epitaph Records) and many others who took part in that era.
