Name
Plague Terror |
Metal Blade reports: One of Metal Blade's
recent signings Seventh Plague, composed of 5 seventeen year old musicians
out of Streetsboro, OH, recently changed their name to FOREVER IN TERROR
as another band in the US had already trademarked the name. As the band
states "Forever In Terror was a name we kicked around for quite some time
so finding out we had to legally change our name was actually a blessing
in disguise. Forever in Terror was a title of one of our older songs plus
it's all over the demo artwork, and we had been asked on several occasions
if that was the band name. I guess, in the end, things work out the way
they should."

Municipal
Waste UK |
PR reports: Hailing from Richmond, Virginia,
Municipal Waste are the reigning kings of the New Wave of Crossover. Municipal
Waste deliver blazing fast, rawthrash-core in the tradition of DRI, Suicidal
Tendencies, "Animosity"-era Corrosion Of Conformity, Nuclear Assault and
Attitude Adjustment. All barely in their 20's, the members of Municipal
Waste inject youthful energy and humor into a classic genre they were too
young to catch the first time around. See them vaccinate the Reading and
Leeds crowd against staying still, and infect them with the 'go mental'
virus at Reading Friday 25th August 2006 and Leeds Saturday 26th August
2006 on the Lock-up stage. Where you should be able to catch such wonders
as "Thrashing's My Business And Business Is Good", "Thrash? Don't Mind
If I Do", and "Drunk As Sh*t".- Click

Frankenreiter
Soph |
PR reports: On June 6, Move By Yourself, the
sophomore release from singer/songwriter/pro-surfer Donavon Frankenreiter
will be released on Lost Highway, his first for the label.
Move By Yourself is the next step in the
natural progression of an artist looking to spread his wings. Move By Yourself
is somewhat of a sonic departure from the Southern California native's
self-titled 2004 Brushfire Records debut, which yielded the Top 5 AAA single
"Free". Donavon and company (Matt Grundy/bass, Eric Brigmond/keys and Craig
Barnette/drums) have stamped their signature brand of "feel good music
with a soul" all over this new offering. The album feels like a breath
of fresh air…old-school fresh air, that is.[see full story for more]-

featuring the piano and songs of Allen Toussaint with his Crescent City
Horns and guitarist Anthony "AB" Brown, begin The River in Reverse tour
June 10. The 22 date tour extends through July 12. Costello & Toussaint

Rock
n Women: Shut Up Marie |
antiMusic reports: Rock n Women returns! We
kick off with Shut Up Marie: antiMusic's editor Keavin Wiggins saw Shut
Up Marie play several months back [at the Raven's Heart Benefit] and was
really impressed with the band and especially the vocals of the singer
Annette. This LA group has been creating a buzz for their energetic live
shows. Their latest CD Gimmie is an entertaining set of songs that
incorporate a few different musical looks from the band, while still retaining
a common identity (mostly the passionate vocals from Annette). She took
time out of her hectic schedule to speak with Morley. antiMusic: What's
on tap for Shut Up Marie in 2006?
Annette: Shut Up Marie is in the
process of signing a management contract with Brainwash Entertainment.
Brainwash is interested in creating a functioning record label and securing
distribution and building the organization with Shut Up Marie as the main
product for the label to blossom into something big enough to eventually
support several acts. They believe in S.U.M. as a viable product, and see
that there are lots of possibilities with crossover, music licensing, radio
airplay, and regional touring. This relationship is one that I think is
really god for Shut Up Marie, and we will be announcing our signing with
them once all the details are worked out. This is a small company created
by motivation and passion, and that's why I think it's a good company to
help build Shut Up Marie into something bigger & better than what it
is now, and move the project to the next level. Brainwash CEO Barbara Farash
is a self-starter, and an all-around wonderful person; I am really excited
about the relationship!
Another really exciting development that
will help put S.U.M. in the forefront this year is my new gig as host of
a great new TV show, "Live On Sunset". This is a program that showcases
bands playing in & around L.A.; the rock & roll capital of the
world! It's produced by the Go Music Network, and they are currently negotiating
contracts with satellite TV networks all around the world. [read the full
