punkbands reports: More details have come out regarding the recent incident which saw half of the Blackout Pact arrested and locked up by Indianapolis police officers. According to a local report: Seth Piracci, 25, was jailed on preliminary charges of criminal mischief and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Wisam Alshabi, 21, faces the same charges. The band responded:

Basically, this is all bullsh*t, we didnt buy alcohol for anybody, and all that happened is we went to sleep and woke up with coppers dragging us around. We are really f**king sorry about the fact that we have had to cancel two shows, but we are in Lancaster right now, ready as ever. The shows continue, the band continues. No worries. Not The Boss at Record Stores
antiMusic reports: Have American rock fans fired the Boss? Critical darling Bruce Springsteen only managed a third place finish on the Billboard charts this week after selling 145,000 copies of his new album, "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions". A number that isn't anything to sneeze at. But which two artists beat the Boss at his own game? Godsmack topped the chart after selling 211,000 copies of "IV" and Taking Back Sunday denied Springsteen second place by moving 156,000 copies of their new one "Louder Now". Of course, Bruce is still the boss at concert venues and will likely outsell both bands easily, especially since his ticket prices are almost four times higher than TBS and judging by the Canadian show prices, twice as expensive as Godsmack tickets. So at least the Boss still gets paid more. - Click Here for the Full Story

Big Sandy Bringing Back Rock N Roll
conqueroo reports: From the very first song on Big Sandy & the Fly-Rite Boys's forthcoming Turntable Matinee album, you know where this journey is headed. "Drop the needle in the groove and start to move," he sings in the lead track, "The Power of the 45, Part 1," a spitcurl rockabilly number in which Sandy cites many of his influences by name: Little Junior Parker, Lazy Lester, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and Ronnie Dawson.

The new album, Big Sandy's eleventh, which ships July 11 on Yep Roc Records, also features the Western swing of "(Yes) I Feel Sorry for You" to the old-time country of "Lonesome Dollar," the Stax-style Memphis soul sendup "Slipping Away" and the bossa nova "Spanish Dagger.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
