Drowning Pool Week: Enemy
antiMusic reports: Drowning Pool's new CD 'Full Circle' hits stores this week and to celebrate we have asked frontman Ryan McCombs to tell us a little bit about his favorite five songs from the CD. Here is Ryan with his take on the track " Enemy".

Enemy is the most middle-finger-in-the-air song on the record and is about walking away from a destructive situation respectfully. The relationship in the song has one partner who tries to do everything right while the other partner does the opposite. Even though eventually the speaker feels nothing but spite and contempt for the abusive partner, when leaving the relationship, he is still able to take the high-road. I'm sure that my old-school friends and family understand exactly where "Enemy" came from having seen some of the sad, sad BS of recent years.

Van Halen Reunion Tour
antiMusic reports: Since they don't have anything else going on at the moment it looks like the Van Halen brothers and David Lee Roth figure they might as well jump into a reunion tour. The same tour that was supposed to take place this summer looks to be happening this fall.

We're heard this all before but "sources" have told Billboard magazine that the Van Halen camp is planning a press conference next week to announce the reunion tour which is said to be planned to hit arenas beginning in early Roctober and will run for 50-dates. While not a full blown reunion with Eddie's son Wolfgang handling bass duties instead of Michael Anthony the tour will feature originals Eddie and Alex Van Halen with Diamond David Lee Roth.- more on this story

Richards Admits Snorting Dad's Ashes
antiMusic reports: Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has admitted that he did in fact snort his father's ashes, thus doing an about face from his previous denial of the deed. However, he states that he didn't mix his fathers remains with cocaine.

"What I found out is that ingesting your ancestors is a very respectable way of... y'know, he went down a treat," Richard reportedly says in a new magazine interview according to UK music site Gigwise. The story caused controversy when it first broke with Richards issuing a denial but he has now changed his tune and offered up a correction to the widely reported claims that he mixed his fathers remains with cocaine before having a toot.

"The cocaine bit was rubbish. I said I chopped him up like cocaine, not with. I'd opened his box up and said, 'Jesus, I've got to do something with dad, y'know, plant the oak tree.' I pulled the lid off and out comes a bit of dad on the dining room table. I'm going, 'I can't use the brush and dustpan for this'. So you just gotta like, put it together."

The End of Slayer?
antiMusic reports: Tom Araya has told Worcester magazine that the next Slayer album may be their last. In an interview discussing the Slayer/Marilyn Manson coheadlining tour, the metal legend also discussed what the future may hold for Slayer and Araya feels that the end may be near.

"Well, there have been remarks made about seeing an old man headbang. And I have to agree," Araya said in the interview. "I think the Stones can do that, probably go out and do their stuff in their 80s, but it just wouldn't look right [for us], you know what I mean?

"It's actually pretty strenuous. That's why I don't see it going any further than a certain point in time. We have one more record to do, which is our deal with [Rick] Rubin, and we'll have to sit down and discuss the future. But I can't really see myself doing this at a later age."- Read the full interview

Schenker Kills Tour
antiMusic reports: Following the footsteps of a cancelled U.S. tour, Michael Schenker has pulled the plug on his U.K. run as well, according to a post on guitar legend's Myspace page.

Blabbermouth reports that "Schenker and his band were scheduled to perform Friday night (August 3) in Stourbridge, U.K. but ended up calling off the gig after only a handful of songs."

Schenker's Myspace page then carried this announcement: "Due to various mitigating circumstances that have conspired to derail the [U.K.] tour, it has been officially confirmed by a source close to Michael Schenker Group that the remaining tour dates have definitely been cancelled. In truth, it was impossible to carry on with the current situation, a situation that has been caused by a multitude of events beyond the bands control, including Michael's. The band and Michael would personally like to express their gratitude for the patience and understanding shown by the MSG faithful (fans) during this extremely difficult time and would like to say 'Thank you' to ALL those who have expressed their continuing love and support. Be assured, MSG hope to see you ALL on the road in the future."

Label Threatens Retailers Over Imports
antiMusic reports: What happens when a U.S. label didn't have the foresight to release an album which goes on to become a hit in other countries? U.S. fans buy up import copies of said album. Once the U.S. label finally catches on and releases the album domestically, they really don't want fans to have the choice of buying the import version. In fact, carrying such an import may land a retailer in court!

Universal Republic will finally get around to releasing Amy Winehouse's 2003 debut on November 7th and according to Rolling Stone the label "is bullying retailers into removing the import version of the LP from their shelves." That's right, the label claims that wholesalers and record stores are infringing upon their "exclusive right to distribute [Winehouse's] recordings in the States" by providing import version of the album to American consumers.

Last month the label sent cease-and-desist letters to retailers and wholesalers threatening legal action if they do not pull the import versions of the album off their shelves. - Read the Rolling Stone story.

Roadrunner Blocks Slipknot Singer From Joining Anthrax
antiMusic reports: Despite the politically correct reasons of scheduling conflicts ruling out Slipknot's frontman joining the ranks of Anthrax. Slipknot are working on a new album after all, the singer let it slip that his label had a big part in nixing the collaboration.

"Various people at the record company [Roadrunner] put their foot down about that," Taylor told Metal Hammer Magazine. "So the way we've left it is that I will do a couple of songs with them, and not the whole album."

Metal Hammer responded, "That must have been incredibly frustrating?" and Taylor responded, "Of course, I was so stoked that the Anthrax guys would consider doing anything with me. So the last thing I wanted to do was let them down."- more on this story

Silverstein Plot Fall Tour
antiMusic reports: Silverstein have announced their fall headlining tour plans. Since it's no fun to tour alone and let's face it since you need to give every reason to part with their hard earned cash instead using it at the hookah bar, the band has asked From Autumn to Ashes and Strike Anywhere to join them on the cross country trek.

As it looks at the moment the tour will kick off in Rockford Illinoize on Rocktober 2nd, run all over the country before wrapping a month later in Asbury Park, NJ on November 4th.- more on this story
