ZZ Top The Charts
PR reports: This week ZZ Top's Live From Texas in concert DVD debuts at #1 in Billboard's Top Music DVD chart. It simultaneously holds the same position on the Canadian Music DVD chart as well. Initial orders in both countries more than qualify the release for RIAA (US) and CRIA (Canada) gold certification. Live From Texas had #1 debuts in both France and Sweden as the band embarked on its first European tour in six years.

The release from Eagle Rock Entertainment was launched with huge fanfare in the band's Houston home base late last month with a massive launch part at The Hard Rock Houston followed by a ZZ Top Day ceremony at City Hall. Houston Mayor Bill White hosted the band there for a news conference and slyly declared, "ZZ Top can't stop rockin', that's a big part of why Houston is so proud to call these sharp dressed men its very own."

Not resting on their laurels after almost 40 years of performing and recording, the band immediately departed for Europe where they are now in the midst of a three week whirlwind tour that includes an even dozen festival and concert performances in seven countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Monaco. A number of the venues hosting the band have audience capacities in excess of 40,000.

A scant ten days after the completion of the European tour, the band embarks on a six-week North American tour co-billed with Brooks & Dunn. - more on this story

Rock Against Diabetes Moving to Bigger Venue
PR reports: Rock Against Diabetes has already outgrown itself. With an overwhelming response from many of the fans of participating bands, Rock Against Diabetes have realized that the August 23rd, 2008 festival style show needed a larger venue with more amenities for the fans.

"With the number of people wanting to attend in person, and the amount of time these people are going to be my guests, I felt the need to have top of the line services for food, beverage and other facilities for the fans and the acts" said organizer and founder Darrin Buchanan when asked why the move is happening.

"The guys over at Deep Rock Drive also understood that the show was becoming much too large to keep in their venue, with everyone being comfortable and properly attended to." Deep Rock Drive has already refunded all online viewing ticket holders their money back as a new solution is set up to have the concert streamed live on the Internet. - more on this story

PR reports: Rock 'n' Roll isn't just for the boys. Girls can rock, too, as evidenced by powerful women rockers like Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, Sleater-Kinney, Le Tigre, and others. To carry on this torch, the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls has taught girls ages 8-18 to harness their inner artist and rock out since 2001. The one-week camp takes girls of all skill levels and teaches them how to play an instrument, form and run a band, write songs, and promote their work while building community and self-esteem.

Now, girls all over the world can join the movement with Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, a new book that collects the lessons of the Camp into one fun, educational and encouraging resource. Each chapter guides girls through different aspects of performance in a positive, inspiring way. They will learn how to: * write a song * choose the right instrument * set up mics, PAs, and amps * make a record * start, book and promote a band - more on this story
