Inside Track Week: Keaton Simons

antiMusic reports: One of our main goals here is turn people on to music and we've found that the best people to tell you about the music is the musicians themselves, so this week we are giving you the inside track on three promising up and coming artists. Today we feature Keaton Simons who tells us about the songs on his new album "Can You Hear Me," which echoes his varied influences ranging from Hendrix, Dylan, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell to Muddy Waters, B.B. King and Robert Johnson. Stylistically he is just as varied, immersed himself in all forms of music, from Rock to Jazz, Blues to Bluegrass. Here is Keaton to tell us about the songs on the album:

1. WITHOUT YOUR SKIN - I'm fascinated with dichotomy. One of my favorites is the global and possibly even universal connection between all things and the complete individuality and autonomy of all things. That's the grand answer. The more down to earth one is the connection between two people who are so close that one may actually feel "naked" without the other.

2. NOBODY KNOWS - I wrote this song with The Matrix (an amazingly talented and successful writing and production team). The song is basically about an affair I had many years ago. It sheds light on some of the less popular perspectives about infidelity. It also shows the tendency for people to think they know what's "really going on" in a situation that they may actually know very little about. This song doesn't condone cheating. It just realizes the entire reality of it.

PR reports: The latest episode of "Talking Metal" features an interview host John Ostronomy conducted with legendary former Megadeth bassist, David Ellefson of F5.

Bigelf Set the Date For Their New Album

PR reports: Psychedelic progressive rock band Bigelf has completed work on its long-awaited new album, entitled Cheat the Gallows. The follow up to the band's acclaimed full-length Hex; Cheat the Gallows will see an August 12 release via the Custard label.

Cheat the Gallows was recorded at Kung Fu Gardens studios in North Hollywood and produced by Bigelf frontman Damon Fox. The album features 10 diverse tracks of hallucinatory hard rock, showcasing the band's multi-layered arrangements, rich, sophisticated vocal harmonies and Fox's spectacular dual-Mellotron / Hammond organ / Moog synthesizer saturations.

Women Make A Deal

PR reports: Jagjaguwar has just announced the signing of Women, and will release the band's self-titled debut full length on October 7th, 2008 throughout the world (January, 2009 release in the UK, and Canadian label Flemish Eye is releasing the record in Canada.)

The band will tour the U.S., Canada and Europe in support of the album throughout 2008, and tour dates will be announced soon.

The band's debut was recorded by Sub Pop and Flemish Eye artist Chad VanGaalen over 4 months on ghettoblasters and old tape machines in his basement, an outdoor culvert and a crawlspace. Paul van Dyk After Party

PR reports: Made Event and Paul van Dyk announced today that they will be adding a special Ibiza-style afterparty at Webster Hall immediately following his performance at Hudson River Park's Pier 54 (Saturday, August 16th). Temujin Delay Tour To Record New Songs

Renaissance Records reports: Temujin wish to announce that the North American live dates originally planned for late 2008 have been rescheduled to 2009. Instead, the band will be bringing forward plans to record new material, which should begin sometime in August.

The change in schedule has been brought about because lead vocalist Kelly is expecting her second child in mid November.

"We are disappointed that we won't be able to bring our music to the US as planned ... but very excited about the arrival of a new child. We'll now focus on writing and recording in the lead up to the birth, and then launch into 2009 with new material and a return to live work. Nothing is cancelled - just rearranged! Marrow Sets Depressing Release

TMZ reports: Sources tell TMZ Lindsay Lohan was out in NYC last night with gal pal Samantha Ronson, and as they were leaving, Lilo got hit by a someone on a bike.

We're told her driver took her to Beth Israel Hospital in Midtown Manhattan and she checked herself out at 4:00 AM.

AntiTainment Celebutard Watch: Shia LaDrunk Smashup

TMZ reports: TMZ has learned Shia LaBeouf has been arrested for DUI. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ LaBeouf was involved in a car accident at about 3:00 AM at the corner of La Brea and Fountain in Hollywood. Paramedics were called to the scene and both parties were taken to a local hospital.

LaBeouf was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI after we're told he exhibited "outward signs" of intoxication at the scene.

Law enforcement tell TMZ, Shia LaBeouf will not be booked on felony DUI charges -- but he's not out of the woods. We're told Shia is in surgery right now to fix his messed up left hand that was injured after he rolled his car at 3 AM today.
