The 88 Books Dates With B-52s, 311 and Matt Costa
PR reports: Los Angeles-based band The 88 announced today a spring tour which includes opening for the B-52s, 311 and Matt Costa in support of their most recent CD, Not Only But Also, released last fall.

Tracks from Not OnlyBut Also have made waves on television, video games and online, continuing a trend The 88 began on their prior releases. Lead track "Coming Home" was heard in the premiere episode of 90210, while Gossip Girl showcased the piano-driven rocker "It's A Lot". The super-charged "Sons And Daughters" is a challenge to Rock Band 2 gamers.

And in keeping with their DIY roots, their unique video for "Coming Home", in which they spent the bulk of the video's budget on free fuel for passing motorists at a local gas station, was featured on Spin.com and Yahoo's "Who's Next". - more on this story

Thrashing Children in May
PR reports: Children's debut thrash metal wailer Hard Times Hangin' At The End Of The World is out May 12th on Kemado Records.

Formed through jam sessions by guitarists Skyler Spohn, Jonny Ollsin (formerly of Vancouver's S.T.R.E.E.T.S.), and drummer Adam Bennati (of Early Man), the NYC trio laid waste to clubs in and around the city beginning in late 2006, releasing their "Death Tribe" 12" single in early 2008. Hard Times' six massive tracks marry intricate, narrative dual guitar work with a frenzied, wired demeanor.

The band has crafted a set of meticulous compositions, including several marathon-length tracks that stretch past the seven minute mark. Produced by Joe Blaney (whose hundreds of credits include the Clash's Combat Rock ), the band tracked the songs live at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY, on all analog gear and 2" tape for a truly thick, punishing and fluid sound. - more on this story

Black Bone Child Hitting The Road
Glass Onyon reports: Hailing from Austin, Texas, live music capitol of the world, Black Bone Child is a creation like no other. In a world of music hybrids, members Donny James and Kenneth M. are offering a new incite into the world of blending the old with the new. Between an exciting fresh take on slide guitar and driving distorted bass lines, this energetic and rhythmically based rock is sure to keep the dance floors packed and listeners hanging on every note.

With all the hoopla that has followed the release of Black Bone Child's eponymous debut CD, Donny and Kennth are preparing to tour in support of the release.

The duo has added members to the live ensemble. "Jason King plays guitar along with me in the band," says Donny. " What a great artist! He is really in tune to what we are doing and you can tell that he loves playing his instrument. All around just a great addition to the band. Steve Hudson plays drums. Having Steve come out and sit down made for an easy choice for the 4th member. He has a way of locking up with Kenneth that makes the rhythm section undeniable. The live act would not be the same without him." - more on this story
