This doesn�t necessarily mean the end of the show. Even the lower than average recent ratings for the show are twice the typical viewership for MTV in primetime which averages 1.2 million viewers according to New York Daily News. But the show is no longer the highest rated show on the network, �The Real World,� averaged 3.68 million viewers per episode.
There is a lot of speculation as to why people have lost interest in the show. The most popular theory is that the novelty has worn off. Or perhaps the temperament of this season, which was filmed after the breakthrough success of the first season, has really changed with the focus on Sharon�s cancer treatment, the family hamming it up for publicity and the manufacturing of daughter Kelly into a popstar hopeful.
The other theory for the decline of �The Osbournes� is the simple fact that people may just be �f**king� tired of watching it.
