Knight was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital to be treated for the gunshot wound and a resulting broken bone. There are conflicting reports about the shooting and the shooter and at press time there have no arrests in relation to the incident.

Some reports state that Knight was sitting at a table when a suspect wearing a pink shirt shot him and other reports state that Knight was shot by a man in a hooded sweatshirt that walked up to him and shot two times.

The rumor mill is already grinding fulltime online with some speculation that the gunshot may have been an accidental discharge, while others speculate that it is a part of a "rap rivalry".
