Jackson was found not guilty of four counts of child molestation, one count of attempted molestation, four counts of providing alcohol to a minor and one count of conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion.
The jury deliberated for seven days before returning with the verdict. During the trial they heard from 140 witnesses and saw 600 items of evidence. The DA's case was largely based on the testimony of a teenage boy that claimed Jackson gave him alcohol and then molested him and later held him and his family hostage at Jackson's Neverland Ranch after a damaging documentary aired on television. The defense countered by painting the accuser's story as an invention of his mother who the DA claimed was after money from the pop star.
Jackson, who several press reports described as looking stunned, waved and blew a kiss to his happy fans as he left the courthouse.
