Today, four decades after having built "analog synthesizers" from scratch before most people had heard of such things, Preston is a living legend and a pioneer who now tweaks synths on his Apple laptop. This summer Preston toured in Europe with his Akashic Ensemble, including stops in Prague, Vienna, and at the legendary, annual ZAPPANALE festival in Bad Doberan Germany. Now, Don Preston will bring his jazz-electronica-experimental trio to the stages in the Northeastern USA. He will also hold lectures at several esteemed Universities.

During this tour Don will reach his 75th Birthday (21 SEP) and looks forward to several months of hard work composing, recording and touring to celebrate this long, ongoing life on the cutting edge of music. His performances today range from solo piano that bridges jazz , 12-tone and classical sensibilities, and hard-core experimental electronic music ranging from beats to ambience, flavored by avant-garde polyrhythms and political satire. He already has big plans for 2008 - -fininshing his Symphonic work, another Grandmothers tour and a return to Europe for his Akashic Ensemble.
