The Flaming Lips Plans for 2011 (A Top Story)

.
On Tuesday The Flaming Lips Plans for 2011 was a top story. Here is the recap: (Gibson) The Flaming Lips will begin the new year with a look back, performing their fan-favorite, neo-psychedelic 1999 album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety for a New Year's Eve crowd at Oklahoma City's Cox Convention Center. But as soon as the New Year rolls around, the group will begin some ambitious plans for creating and releasing new music.

Lips frontman Wayne Coyne told Rolling Stone that the band intend to record and release new songs each month of 2011, while filming the whole process.

"With this new thing, we're going to spend a lot of time recording at our houses or wherever we are at," Coyne explains. "We'll try to release a song a month and document the song in the making, whether it takes us three or five days or a week." - more on this story
