Gwar's Cory 'Flattus Maximus' Smoot (11 We Lost In 11)

On November 4th we had the following report about the death of Gwar's Cory 'Flattus Maximus' Smoot. Here it is again as part of our 11 We Lost In 11 special: Very sad news about Gwar on Thursday, guitarist Cory Smoot, a.k.a. Flattus Maximus, was found dead as the band prepared to embark on a Canadian leg of their North America tour this weekend.

The cause of Smoot's death has not been released and the Gwar camp has not issued a statement at press time about his death or about the fate of the shows which begin tonight. However, Gwar front thing Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Ungurus, gave a statement to.

"It is with a sense of profound loss and tragedy that the members of Gwar must announce the passing of their long time guitarist and beloved friend Cory Smoot, also known to thousands of metal fans worldwide as Flattus Maximus. Cory was found deceased this morning as the band prepared for a border crossing. There is no word as to the cause of death and the members of Gwar are completely shocked and devastated that this has occurred. more on this story
