Rolling Stones To Tribute Ian Stewart

01/04/2011
.
(Gibson) While conflicting messages continue to leak out about whether or not The Rolling Stones will record and tour in 2011 (official word, at the moment, is "no"), the band will apparently play together on an upcoming album by British pianist Ben Waters honoring the late, great Ian Stewart.

Waters will release the all-star Boogie for Stu in March, with proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. Stewart, who was an original member of the band before being relegated to stage manager and studio pianist by manager Andrew Loog Oldham, died of a heart attack in 1985 (see related story).

The Stones fan site, It's Only Rock 'n Roll, has reported that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and even Bill Wyman will appear on the album, performing together on a cover of Bob Dylan's "Watching the River Flow." more on this story
