Life A Combination Of Roses And Thorns for Bret Michaels
. Last year alone, the type 1 diabetic, 48, had an emergency appendectomy, survived a major subarachnoid brain hemorrhage, then suffered a stroke caused by an undetected hole in his heart. (He's now suing the 2009 Tony Awards producers for an onstage accident he claims led to the hemorrhage.) And after doctors fixed his flawed ticker in January, the Poison singer is now back to his renowned workaholic ways, jamming on a nationwide tour and recording a fourth solo album, due June 14. "What are my choices? Sit around and bum out, or think positive and get better quicker?" the Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It reality star tells Us in his first post-operation interview. "This year, knock on wood, there will be no more medical talk for me, only rock talk!" He goes on to say, "Life is a combination of roses and thorns!"
