Lorde Becomes First Woman In 17 Years To Hit No. 1 On Alt Chart
. According to Billboard, she's the first female solo artist to do since Tracy Bonham hit No. 1 with her song "Mother Mother" 17 years ago. Yeah, the last time this happened, Lorde wasn't even born yet. "It's beyond my wildest dreams," Lorde recently told Radio.com regarding the popularity of "Royals." "I try not to let it freak me out too much." With a hit single already under her belt, Lorde is looking toward the release of her debut album, True Heroine, which Universal announced today (Aug. 12) will be released Sept. 30. "Everything on the EP was written when I was 15," she said. "So much has happened in my life since then, and I really want the album to reflect those changes and experiences."
