Jay-Z Reveals New Pimp C Verse on 'Tom Ford' Remix

(Radio.com) Jay Z turned 44 with a flurry of activity Wednesday (Dec. 4). He adopted a vegan diet and released a new remix for the Magna Carta Holy Grail track "Tom Ford" featuring a never-before-heard verse from the late rapper Pimp C.

The timing is significant, as December 4 also marked the sixth anniversary of Pimp C's death. The rapper, formerly of the group UGK, died in 2007 from an overdose of promethazine and codeine complicated by sleep apnea.

Jay Z fans will best remember Pimp C, and fellow UGK rapper Bun B, from his guest appearance on Jay Z's 1999 hit, "Big Pimpin'." In addition to the "Tom Ford" remix, Jay Z also used his 44th birthday to personally rank his discography, from best to worst.

On a blog post entitled "The Scorecard," the rapper ranked his 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, as his best album, citing it as a classic. The Blueprint, The Black Album and Vol. 2 took spots 2-4, with each also receiving the classic rating from their creator. Listen to the remix here.
