(Classic Rock) Rick Wakeman will mark the 40th anniversary of groundbreaking album Journey To The Centre Of The Earth by staging over 100 performances round the world next year. He's already announced the first five UK dates, with more to follow.

The show will include new sets designed by long-term collaborator Roger Dean and music will be delivered by Wakeman with the English Rock Ensemble and the Jules Verne Symphony Orchestra And Chorus.

Last year Classic Rock released a Journey To The Centre Of The Earth fanpack, containing a new recording of the 1974 masterwork. It included 20 minutes of material dropped from the original release.

Wakeman said: "It was 36 minutes long because that's all that could be fitted on a vinyl album. I thought it would be great to do Journey To The Centre Of The Earth the way I'd always planned it as a 55-minute epic." more on this story
