Civil Wars Star Joy Williams Recording Solo Album

(Radio.com) The civil war within the Civil Wars seems to have reached some sort of end, or at least plateau, with the announcement from Joy Williams on Facebook that she is recording a solo album. Posting a video with an 18-second snippet of new music, Williams wrote, "Started recording a solo album yesterday. Butterflies. Bittersweet. Mostly sweet."

Williams also revealed that she's been songwriting with Matt Morris, son of country star Gary Morris and one of the quiet breakout stars from the Mickey Mouse Club cast that included Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. He co-wrote Kelly Clarkson's "Miss Independent," among other musical ventures.

The female half of the folk duo that may or may not be any longer recently also went out on her own to record the theme song to ACM's new series TURN with The National's Matt Berninger. more on this story
