Charli XCX Goes Punk for New Song 'Allergic to Love'

(Radio.com) It seems Charli XCX is having a bit of an adverse reaction to her "SuperLove." On her latest track, "Allergic to Love," Charli freaks out about a rash she got from a recent conquest.

With some punky guitars and distortion, the singer "achoos" and asks politely for a tissue on the track that clocks in just over a minute. She might have went punk, but she didn't lose her manners.

No word yet if the new track will be on Charli's upcoming album, which is slated for a March 2014 release. Last year, she talked about what fans can expect from the follow-up to her 2013 debut, True Romance.

"It's a mix of the Icona Pop track," she explained to Ultimate Music, "and takes inspiration from Bow Wow Wow, The Waitresses and The Flying Lizards and those Lolita-esque bratty French girls and other girl power heroinesLet's just say I was in a similar mind frame. The songs are quite shouty and bratty. It's more live and less intimate. The songs are very pop with a bit of punk." Listen to the song here.
