Paul McCartney Sings 'Scrambled Eggs' in Minimation Clip
. Most Beatles fans have heard Paul McCartney talk about how the original lyrics to "Yesterday" were "Scrambled eggs/oh baby how I love your legs!" But they've never seen it rendered quite like this. In 1984, at the time of this interview, Paul was promoting his Give My Regards To Broad Street film and soundtrack album, which saw him re-recording several Beatles classics, including "Here, There and Everywhere," "The Long and Winding Road" and "Yesterday." In the interview, he tells Muni, "When something's just so successful people often don't want to do the big one." At that time, McCartney was in the midst of a decade long hiatus from the road, and even when he did tour, he leaned more heavily on his solo catalog - it should be noted however, that he did play "Yesterday," which was included on his classic 1976 live record Wings Over America. But when McCartney hit the road in 1989 for his Flowers in the Dirt album, he seemed to make peace with his Beatles legacy and in the decades since, has featured lots of Fab Four songs in his sets. However, "Scrambled Eggs" is still a rarity. Watch a rather psychedelic take on McCartney's interview with legendary WNEW DJ Scott Muni here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
