Singer and hit songwriter Linda Perry has some strong words about her views of American Idol in an interview that air on today's episode of "Larry King Now".

The episode airs today, June 26th at 5 pm ET, and during the interview Perry discusses her Grammy awards and nominations, her songwriting process, her feud with Pink, writing hit songs for Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, and Faith Hill, as well as her strong opinion about the singing competition show American Idol. The show sent over this advance quote:

"Those kids that are on that show would never, would NEVER be found out by a label. A label would never go 'I want that kid' - you know - they're not special enough...they're singing cover songs, they're not real musicians.

"They're more being put out on the show because this person seems a little f*cked up so they're gonna be good for tv, that person we know we're gonna dump them in the second episode, and you know it's already planned out to who the winner is."

She also shared her view about corporate sponsors and other singing competition shows: "Is it really about music or is it about selling coca-cola? Is it about the judges and their million dollar paychecks? What are these f*cking shows actually about? Because what its not about - is about music."

The full episode will air here.
