Drug Sentence
siN's metal

charges dropped in return for his acknowledgement that he was on drugs
when he was involved in a minor traffic accident last summer in Des Moines.
Last week Gray pled
guilty operating while under the influence of drugs. He was signed to one
year on informal probation and to contribute a $500 donation to the American

is your leader, but listen up! Billie Joe may be obligated to put out your
records, but I'm not obligated to like your band. I hope you enjoy your
15 minutes of borrowed fame, because where I come from one good record
doesn't mean dick. So keep runnin' your mouths cause it'll give me a good

Opeth
Bank Robbers
siN's metal news
reports: On Monday (October 27), the four band members of OPETH had a near
miss experience, whilst caught in the crossfire on their tour bus between
a gang of bank robbers and the Norwegian police during a day off on their
current Scandinavian tour.
Whilst returning
to the tour bus, which was parked outside Oslo's Central Station and Central
Post Office, OPETH guitarist Peter Lindgren and his girlfriend Jessica
witnessed a car at full speed crashing into the Central Post Office. At
first, they presumed that the occupants of the vehicle were 'joy-riders',
but they immediately heard gunfire, and made a hasty retreat to the tour
bus.
Once within the relative
safety of the tour bus, the police arrived and engaged the perpetrators
in a cops and robbers style shooting only yards from the tour bus. As OPETH
viewed the proceedings from the tour bus windows, they witnessed the robbers
escape away from the Post Office and across the parking lot, where one
of the robbers took shelter behind the OPETH tour bus.
Trying to do their
civilian duty, the band tried to notify the police of the whereabouts of
the hidden robber, by shining a light through the tour bus window, but
without success. Unfortunately they were confined to the tour bus for quite
some time due to the fact that they didn't dare leave the bus as the trigger
happy police may not have realized the difference between a black-clothed
bank robber, or a black-clothed metal band member.
Peter Lindgren said
"It was an action filled end to a usually boring day off!" -Click

Stone
Temple Rehab
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/VELVET
REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland was ordered on Thursday (Oct. 30) to report
to a live-in detox program followed by six months in a residential drug
rehab center, according to Reuters.
The court order followed
Weiland's arrest on Monday - his 36th birthday - for crashing into a parked
car in Hollywood and leaving the scene of the accident. He was charged
with driving under the influence.
Weiland, who has
a history of heroin addiction, which landed him jail time in 1999, was
already undergoing a court-ordered drug counseling program.
Pasadena Superior
Court Commissioner Collette Serio said on Thursday that she would allow
Weiland out of the residential facility for a 10-day period starting Nov.
7 for four hours a day so that he can finish recording an album with his
new band VELVET REVOLVER.
Weiland will be taken
to the recording studio by a police officer and tested for drugs immediately
on his return..-Click

NME reports: BLACK
REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB are currently compiling a collection of songs from
their recent world tour for a special DVD package.
However, the band
first have to overcome the hurdle of actually finding the footage needed
to create the disc.
Speaking to NME.COM,
guitarist Peter Hayes said: "A lot of people come up to us and say we should
do it so it's something we're seriously considering. I'd like to take a
song from Germany, Italy, Australia and England and put a whole set together.
That would be kind of fun to get one really good song from each gig."

Rhino
Bucket II
[press release]After
9 long years of waiting, Rhino Bucket is currently recording a new EP!....
looking for a new contract!!!!!
Rhino Bucket recorded
two albums for Warner Bros/EMI back in '90 and '92 and and [sic] independent
album in '94 with former AC/DC drummer Simon Wright. They had one song
on the Wayne's World Movie Soundtrack but got little recognition because
of the sudden emergence of Nirvana and Grunge music. They had been known
for an awesome boogie rock style similar to AC/DC, but all original very
well written music with very catchy licks and rhythm. The lead singer Georg
Dolivo has a voice that you would swear was Bon Scott back from the dead,
and Georg is a natural at the sneery rasp that Bon could only have done.
(So I thought, being a 20 plus year solid AC/DC fan). Plus origional[sic]
licks with guitarist Brian Forsythe(from Kix)& Reeve Downes on bass.
If you put their first cd in a changer with Highway to Hell, Powerage,
Let There Be Rock and High Voltage, you would probably think it was a whole
unreleased AC/DC album with Bon Scott. The original music and lyrics stand
up on their own and in my opinion their previously releases could easily
be mistaken for new releases.
After a seven year
hiatus Rhino Bucket has been doing some bar dates in Southern California
and they also have recorded several new tunes and are currently arranging
a new EP. with the resurgence in popularity of hard rock. They are currently
looking for a record label to pick them up to release a new album and want
to start a tour around North America in 2004. .Click

Halloween
For those who missed
the special Halloween guest Top 5 with Rob Zombie on antiMUSIC. Here it
is to help celebrate this special day, followed by the final Rocktober
Song of the Day, from Rob of course!
Rob Zombie's Top
5 Favorite Horror Films
5) Zombie Lake
- This one is just really weird. Maybe not the best zombie movie, but for
some reason I like it anyway.
4) Dawn of
the Dead - As a sequel, it's outstanding and a great political commentary
on how people are zombified by their culture. Where else can you get a
Zombie Mexican Biker Pie Fight?
3) I Walked
With a Zombie - This one is classic but a little unknown. They had a really
different approach to the storytelling in this one which I why I like it.
2) Night of
the Living Dead - This movie was simply groundbreaking for the black and
white zombie genre. George Romero had people freaking out with the whole
idea of zombies coming alive and eating people.
1) White Zombie -
Nothing like a little voodoo to make your woman love you more. Plus it's
got Bela Lugosi.

Trivia
Answer
We had a bit o'
trivia yesterday with posted lyrics to a mock cover of Temple of the Dog's
"Hunger Strike". We got this guess from Jesus Schwartz: "...I'm trying
for the "big prize" for the Temple Of The Dog story: was that quote from
that dude who used to do those MTV promos who would do improv renditions
of the popular songs from 10 years ago or so, with the jazz band behind
him? I never knew his name, but he did that one, "Jeremy spoke in,
class today...Jeremy's spoken, yesterday...on and on, he never shuts
up"...or, "bow wow wow yippie-yo yippie-yay, Snoop Dogg is in the mutha-grabin'
hayyouse! Hayyouse! that's silly the way he says that. Hayyouse!"
Answer: Nope that
wasn't it but good guess! The campy cover came from Enuff Z'nuff. It was
during a three-hour radio show they did in March of 1993 for Y108 in Chicago.
Most of the show was straight forward unplugged songs, including a whole
section called "Stump the Beatle" (very cool covers of the Fab Four) but
they are known to screw around when given the opportunity and they did
especially with this cover! That's where that cover came from. So no one
won the big prize of a set of Monarch Special Edition Lars Series Kitchen
Wear. For
those who missed it here is the real audio again (includes a song they
wrote "on-air".)
