Osbourne Cancer Scare
Blabbermouth reports: Scotsman.com is reporting that Ozzy and Sharon's daughter Aimee has been treated for a breast cancer scare, it was revealed today.

The pair pulled out of West End show "The Vagina Monologues" last Friday saying only that Aimee was suffering from an undisclosed illness.

But Sharon said today that Aimee, 21, had a lump removed from her breast and is now having more treatment in Los Angeles due to "complications."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Green Day Ad Ban
Punkbands reports: Who knew that Green Day was too hot for the Marriott Marquis? The Independent Film Channel had booked an outdoor wall of the Times Square hotel to advertise IFC's year-long association with the popular punk band on a 28-by- 43-foot billboard. But Marriott execs immediately balked when they saw the billboard's cartoon image: a heart-shaped grenade gripped by a bloodied hand.

"We have the right to review all advertising that goes on our buildings," a Marriott spokeswoman told me, "and if we feel it has any political, pornographic or inappropriate content, we have the right to reject that ad." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Stern Vs Viacom
FMQB reports: Calling it a "slam dunk" for Viacom, syndicated morning man Howard Stern was pleading today to be let out of his contract. "I am begging Viacom, openly, over these airwaves, to fire me," said Stern this morning as he discussed the comments made by U.S. House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-WI) that those who flagrantly violate FCC indecency standards should be subject to criminal prosecution rather than a regulatory process.

"Infinity should get me out of here," said Stern. "They're holding me to the contract and I'm afraid to break the contract, because I don't want to ever do anything illegal or wrong. I'm very, very clear on that. I'm a pretty honest guy. I try to live by the laws, but it seems like I'm being set up." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

NAACP Back C Murder
Baton Rouge Advocate reports: Louisiana NAACP officials have filed a lawsuit on behalf of convicted killer Corey Miller, alleging that his civil and constitutional rights have been violated.

The lawsuit, filed in 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge, asks that Gov. Kathleen Blanco overturn a decision from the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal that denied Miller a new trial.

Miller, 34, was convicted of second-degree murder in 2003 in the death of Steve Thomas, 16, at a nightclub in suburban New Orleans. He is serving a life sentence without parole in the Jefferson Parish Prison. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Weiland Clean Slate

Jesus Tool heh heh
MTV reports: [MTV puts this one to rest]You'll recall that on Tuesday, in the course of looking into Internet rumors that Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan had found Jesus and was leaving the band, we e-mailed Keenan and put the question to him directly. His response was: "i did, in fact, find jesus. More news to follow. God bless ya."

After contemplating this communication, with its lowercase "j" for "Jesus" and its oddly breezy "God bless ya," we began to wonder: Was MJK pulling our leg, yanking our chain — in a word, lying to us? We e-mailed him again and asked flat-out. His response this time: "heh heh." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bono/Pitt Vs AIDS
MTV reports: Bono and Brad Pitt brought their star power to the kickoff of the One Campaign on Wednesday, calling on people to come together to fight the global crises of AIDS, hunger and poverty.

Explaining that "it's not a cause, it's an emergency," Bono said thousands of people die every day in Africa from preventable causes. He called upon the young people of today to make the fight for third-world relief their generation's movement, much like the youth of the 1960s fought for civil rights in America.

....The campaign isn't seeking individual donations, but rather wants people to visit One.org and sign a declaration that calls for directing more resources to the basic needs of the world's poorest countries.[see full story for a lot more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bravery Vs Killers Pt 2
NME reports: THE BRAVERY have hit back at recent suggestions from THE KILLERS BRANDON FLOWERS that the NEW YORKERS have been riding on his band’s coattails.

Flowers recently said in an interview: “Look at a band like The Bravery. They're signed because we're a band", but speaking to San Francisco radio station Live 105 The Bravery have dismissed his claims.

Talking about Flowers, singer Sam Endicott said: “The poor little guy, he’s very scared. I mean I feel bad talking bad about him because it’s like hitting a girl. It’s like picking on a kid in a wheelchair because he has no personality and no sense of humour at all. So what can you say to that?”

Guitarist Michael Zacharin added: “If you’ve seen them live… they’re incredibly boring. They look like wax figures.” [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
