Mushroomhead Premier
V Ent. Network reports: Cleveland-based art-metal octet Mushroomhead will premiere their self-lensed video for "Kill Tomorrow" on August 5 at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time via their website, www.mushroomhead.com. The clip will be available during a brief 30-minute to one-hour window, and henceforth on DVD.

The super-creative, visually driven band self-produced, shot, directed and edited the entire clip, which appears on their landmark DVD release, "Volume 1" (slated for August 9 release on the band's The Filthy Hands Company label). "Kill Tomorrow" marks the first time Mushroomhead shot its own video - an event that, considering the band's ultra hands-on approach on everything from their music to their stage design to their business, was imminent. The track is from their most recent full length release, "XIII" (Universal).[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Radio Boycott
press release reports: Indie musician/recording artist Robert Kramer says the recent statement about the Sony/BMG recording industry payola settlement leaves many questions and issues unanswered,"saying now's the time to keep the pressure on the radio stations and the advertisers who buy time on the stations.

... Encouraging radio listeners, musicians and indie labels to literally throw down the gauntlet to the recording and radio industry, Kramer states the time to act is now.

"I say we should hit them where they live...organize free concerts boycotting advertisers on radio stations that refuse to play indie music..fans of indie music should write letters to radio stations asking for local music programs, and should report stations who are non-responsive to the FCC who refuse to play what the public is asking for..."

"Maybe it's time for the radio station fatcats to trade in their Jaguars for a nice pre-owned Toyota, return the airwaves to the public, and start programming the kind of music people REALLY want to hear....to quote the late Frank Zappa, it's time to "KILL UGLY RADIO"..once and for all..." Peta Arm Strong
Peta reports: Between the tail-end of their celebrated European tour and the launch of their 22-city North American summer tour, Stretch Arm Strong lead singer Chris McClane and guitarist David Sease made time to pose for a brand-new pro-vegetarian public service announcement (PSA) for their pals at peta2—PETA’s youth division. In the ad, Chris and David, both of whom have gone vegetarian, appear in an exclusive photo next to The Smiths-inspired tagline “Meat Is Still Murder” and remind their legions of fans around the world that they don’t have to support cruel factory farms and the “deplorable meat industry” when great veggie options abound.

If fans are getting a little restless waiting for the band’s new album Free at Last (WPO Records) to drop on September 13, peta2 has great news: Visitors to peta2.com can register to win a free CD—before the album is available in stores—and other great prizes.
