Billy Idol Dates
KNAC reports: The best band in the land is touring with Billy Idol. Long time band-mate Steve Stevens (guitar), Brian Tichy (drums) and Derek Sherinian (keyboards) will be embarking on 'The Devils Playground Tour 2005' with Rock Icon Billy Idol as they invade more of the U.S. before leaving for Europe. The band will be slamming out all the Idol hits from “White Wedding” to “Rebel Yell,” including the smash hit from The Devil’s Playground "Scream."

Radiohead War Child
NME reports: RADIOHEAD, GORILLAZ and RAZORLIGHT are amongst the bands who will contribute to a new album being put together in aid of WAR CHILD.

'Help: A Day in the Life' will mark the 10th anniversary of the ’Help’ album in 1995. 

The project aims to compile the best bands of this generation and give them one day to record a new piece of music, which War Child will make available on www.warchildmusic.com on September 9. A CD release will follow a few weeks later.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

QOTSA London
NME reports: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have rearranged a gig postponed in the wake of the LONDON bombings.

The band were forced to pull a date at KOKO, as well as a large outdoor gig at Somerset House on July 7 after the attacks on the city’s transport network.

Ride for Dime
siN's metal news reports: The first annual "Ride for Dime" bike rally will be held on Saturday, August 20 (late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's birthday) in Dallas. The event has been organized to raise money for the Dimebag Darrell Memorial Fund, which has been set up to help the victims of the Alrosa Villa shootings in Columbus, Ohio on December 8, 2004, which took the life of legendary heavy metal guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. siN's metal news reports: THE RED CHORD have posted the following message on their official website:

"Kevin Rampelberg (aka Big Kev) is no longer with THE RED CHORD. Kevin and I (Guy) have been playing together in bands for the past 10 years and in THE RED CHORD for the last 6 or so. Kevin played his last show with the band at the Palladium in Worcester last week (July 26th). The split was abrupt, but amicable. For the time being, we are performing as a 4 piece with Gunface (aka Mike McKenzie) handling all the guitar duties.

Wanna Own Dylan History? Got Some Extra Cash? 
Christies reports: Christie's is pleased to announce the sale of an exciting piece of Bob Dylan memorabilia in our forthcoming auction of Pop Memorabilia to be held in New York on November 21, 2005. 

Entitled Poems Without Titles, this rare collection of early poems was written by Dylan whilst at the University of Minnesota, circa late 1959/early 1960. The collection consists of sixteen pages of handwritten poems, the majority signed Dylan or Dylanism.

This collection will be on view to the public during our Appraisal Days, listed below.
