Murder Trial |
Blabbermouth reports: Danielle Demetriou of
The Independent is reporting that eight members of an alleged Satanic black
metal sect, "Beasts of Satan", were ordered to stand trial in an Italian
court Thursday (Jan. 13) in relation to three supposed ritual killings.
The eight suspects, four of whom are members
of "Beasts of Satan" from Busto Arsizio near Milan, are facing charges
in relation to the murder of three companions.
On Thursday, a judge in Busto Arsizio
ordered three of the suspects to face charges in a fast-track trial starting
on February 21. The fast-track system will allow only a limited amount
of evidence to be introduced in a closed-door hearing and will result in
a reduced sentence if a defendant is convicted. The remaining suspects
will stand trial in June. [see full story for more]- Click

G Vs Cowboys |
Ananova reports: Ali G comic Sacha Baron Cohen
is being blamed for a hoax which enraged cowboys at a US rodeo.
The comedian's other alter ego, bumbling
Kazakhstani Borat Sagdiyev, is the chief suspect behind the stunt at a
rodeo at Salem, Virginia.
Speaking in broken English, the man said:
"I hope you kill every man, woman and child in Iraq, down to the lizards.
And may George W. Bush drink the blood of every man, woman and child in
Iraq."
He then told the crowd to be seated, put
his hat back on, and launched into a butchered version of The Star-Spangled
Banner that ended with the words "your home in the grave".
"If he had been out there a minute longer,
I think somebody would have shot him," said local radio DJ Robynn Jaymes.

Cents: I’m Your Biggest Fan |
[Chuck DiMaria is checking in to give us his
2 cents.]
"I’m your biggest fan!"
Those four little words are enough to strike
fear into any performer’s heart.
Talk about a dichotomy: You need the fans
desperately, but they’ll be the first ones to turn on you. And when they
do, it usually gets pretty ugly.
I’ve been onstage enough to know a few
things and one of them is that it’s really no big deal to be onstage. I
mean, given the right lighting and sound, anyone can look like a rockstar
up there. However, it doesn’t matter how good you look or sound, if there’s
no one in the audience, it don’t mean a thing.
And that’s where the fans come in. They
are the true measure of success. If you can sell tickets, you’re a star,
but if no one shows up, you’re not. Period, end of story, film at eleven.
So as an entertainer, you learn early on
that you need fans. Your job is to get new fans all the time and keep the
ones you have happy. And it’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s not easy because times change, people
change, you change and when that happens you just might lose fans because
they really don’t want you to change.
I mean, which would you rather have, the
skinny, young Elvis or the old, fat, bloated Elvis?
But you will change and so will your music
and your outlook and your attitude and just about everything else. Sometimes,
that’s the way you get fans. That growth as an artist is important if you
want to keep things fresh. But sometimes that change isn’t a positive one,
or at least isn’t viewed as such.
And that’s when you can lose fans. [That's
1 cent, click the full story link to get the other] -
