Flaming Lips Cruise
MTV reports: It's not impossible to imagine the Flaming Lips as the house band at, say, a cantina on Mars. But on a Carnival Cruise Line ship? Well, starting this October, that's just what they'll be, serving as the headlining act on the inaugural Xingolati Groove Cruise. The event, aboard the Carnival Paradise liner, is a four-day jaunt from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico, where the ship will be transformed into a floating music festival.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Jacko Still Gagged
AP reports: A controversy over the gag order in the Michael Jackson case arose Wednesday when the singer's attorney issued a statement saying he had not authorized anyone to hold news conferences on the pop star's behalf. 

Mesereau's statement appeared aimed at assuring the court that his defense team had not violated a gag order imposed by the judge. Mesereau did not name anyone, but his statement came shortly after Jackson's spokeswoman, Raymone K. Punknews reports: Some more bands have been added to Hellfest's 2005 edition. Among those announcing their participation on their respective websites are Between the Buried and Me, Ready Set Fail, Horse the Band and Houston Calls.

Helloween DVD
Noble PR reports: Thrash metal fans will be thrilled to hear that on 18th July 2005, Sanctuary Visual Entertainment will release "Hellish Videos"; the complete promo-video collection from influential German rockers Helloween.

 Known for drawing their inspiration from the likes of Judas Priest and the legendary Iron Maiden, Helloween fused speed and energy with killer riffs and minor key melodies to produce a sound branded power metal. This DVD, compiled and produced by vocalist Andi Deris, contains the promo-videos for 13 tracks such as "I Want Out", "The Time Of The Oath" and "When The Rain Grows", a veritable greatest hits collection from all of the Helloween albums. Backyard Babies Return To US
Black & White PR reports: Lock up your daughters, Stockholm's Backyard Babies are returning to North America!! 

After a successful tour opening up for punk legends, Social Distortion, the Backyard Babies are returning to North America for a headlining national summer tour with labelmates The Black Halos, kicking off at the NXNE Conference in Toronto, June 9th at Funhaus. 

The Babies will be supporting their newest release, Tinnitus on California based Liquor and Poker Music. Club Vodka Moves
Day in Rock reports: Hollywood's infamous Club Vodka has a new home and new night. Most glittertown can be found on Friday nights at A.D. (former home of "The Cathouse). The grand opening of the new Club Vodka is this Friday (June 10th) and will feature performances by Thunder Her Struck (all female AC/DC tribute), National Dust, Dark 32 and others with DJ Tamie Downe (of Faster Pussycat / The Cathouse) spinning all night long. Couch Tour 2005
Victory reports: Zumiez, Inc., a leading specialty retailer of action sports related apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories, has announced plans for its Couch Tour 2005, which will consist of a series of entertainment events from June 4th through July 8th that include skateboarding demonstrations from top professionals, autograph sessions, competitions and live music. Victory Records Artists Bayside and Aiden perform from June 18th through June 30th – other dates feature Alien Ant Farm, Coheed and Cambria and others. Other artists playing select dates include Coheed and Cambria, Alien Ant Farm, Tsunami Bomb and Allister. 

Skate teams from Element, Volcom, DC, and Adio will participate with a list of skateboarding’s elite expected to appear that includes Bam Margera, Shaun White, Mark Appleyard, Colt Cannon, Rob Dyrdek, Geoff Rowley, Darrell Stanton, and Kenny Anderson just to name a few. Fox's Land Air Sea Tour FMX demo team and a special autograph session with Fox legend FMX rider Carey Hart will share the stage with the Element skate team at the Minneapolis, MN tour stop. Scum of the Earth Update
Eclipse Records reports: After landing themselves a top 10 spot on the FMQB metal chart, Scum of the Earth's latest single " Get Your Dead On" is going for adds to Modern & Active Rock radio stations nationwide on June 27. Aside from former Rob Zombie guitarist RIGGS, the single features guest performances by former Powerman 5000 guitarist Mike Tempesta and brother, John Tempesta (Rob Zombie, Helmet), thus marking the first time both Tempesta brothers have performed together on the same song. 

Also this week, RIGGS and company are setting out on their second U.S. tour with special guests Brand New Sin & Society 1. When asked about the tour, Riggs said the following in a recent interview, "It ought to be good. There'll definitely be more blood. I figured out more spots (in the show) where I could douse people in blood and still play the songs - it will be a full carnival of carnage!" Paramore Get Warped
press release reports: Paramore have just been confirmed to perform on this year¹s Vans Warped Tour. The 14 dates will kick off July 20 in Indianapolis and run through August 10 in Washington DC.
