Blur Frontman starts new band
Reader Submission reports: In the January issue of Penthouse, DJ Danger Mouse lets the cat out of the bag that Blur frontman Damon Albarn is working on a new record with a new band, "I'm working on another record with Damon Albarn from Gorillaz. It's not Gorillaz or Blur...it's something different, but it's really good. It's not a solo record either. He's the lead singer...but I can't really say. Hopefully we'll finish it this year and it'll be out next year." - Click Here for the Full Story

Architects Revenge
MSO reports: Kansas City foursome the ARCHITECTS have designed a scorching, vitriolic rock & roll album steeped in the art of getting even. The acclaimed group that Alternative Press hailed as “powerful Midwestern rock n’ soul the way it was meant to be played” (5/05) will unveil their new offering REVENGE February 21 on Anodyne Records. The ARCHITECTS--who’ve built a reputation for fiery live performances--will perform a slew of hometown shows and a special Los Angeles appearance on January 16 at the Viper Room, with a full winter tour to be announced soon.

On REVENGE, the ARCHITECTS have drafted a boozy, bluesy and--above all else--heartfelt album, where punk fury and whiskey-drunk prowess meet and exchange dirty looks. Cops, politicians, ex-lovers and even dewey-eyed, nostalgic Gadjits [the founding members’ former band] fans all get thirty lashes on REVENGE, the follow-up to the group’s critically commended 2004 debut Keys To The Building (Anodyne Records). Wet Animal
Chipster reports: WET ANIMAL was founded in 1995 by guitarist Rick Wartell of seminal metal act Trouble. A veteran of the hard music world since Trouble’s inception in 1977, Wartell is a man who knows what he’s doing, with the singular goal of making solid hard rock music, and he has succeeded with Wet Animal. The three-piece also consists of West Virginian singer/guitarist Shane Pasqualla, drummer Jeff “Oly” Olson, and bassist Michael “Vito” Diprima.

They recently released their exceedingly strong self-titled Wet Animal CD with 10 tracks in a compact and musically succinct 46:46. One definite highlight is “Soul Alone,” with the heavy grooves of Trouble updated Wet Animal-style, a great hook, soulful rock vocals, and a big big chorus, “This is what I imagined when we first formed Wet Animal,” Wartell explains. He produced the effort between two studios in hometown Chicago and Massachusetts.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
