blabbermouth.net reports: According to Hits Daily Double, LAMB OF GOD's "Sacrament" (Epic) is poised to sell between 75,000 and 80,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart. Submarines Tour

PR reports: Los Angeles-based indie pop duo The Submarines will join French new wave sensation Nouvelle Vague on a North American tour this fall, beginning in Vancouver on September 5 and wrapping in Miami on September 23.

In other news, The Submarines recorded an iTunes session with famed indie rock producer Adam Lassus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo), which will be available this Fall. In addition to alternative version of songs from Declare a New State!. Tour Aborted

blabbermouth.net reports: Belgian death metallers ABORTED have issued the following update:

Well, this tour [with CRYPTOPSY] has been quite the debacle. We had to cancel Malmo [Sweden] since the bus broke down in Denmark and we were stuck there the whole day which sucked ass. Luckily for the fans, CRYPTOPSY did make it at the last minute, and apparently they tore it up! We apologize to the fans there waiting to see us, but we only found out last minute we wouldn't make it, sucks.... Secondly, Matty [guitar] had some problems with his working situation so last minute we had to cancel our participation to the rest of the tour since he might have lost his job over this. Our boys in VISCERAL BLEEDING are taking over for the other dates and I'm sure they will do the killing in our stead. All you guys out there, no worries, we're planning a full offensive next year with the new album! Veruca Strays

PR reports: L.A. rockers The Strays will support Veruca Salt on their upcoming tour that kicks off September 20 at the Key Club in Los Angeles. Also on the bill is Immortal Records recording artist Agent Sparks. The Strays, who are fresh off a national tour with the Buzzcocks, are getting as much roadwork in as possible leading up to the release of their debut album Le Futur Noir. The 13-track disc which smashes up Replacements-style abrasion with the dub-reggae side of the Clash (and some of their politics) is due out late October.

Killswitch Engage Dies

PR reports: Grammy Nominated, ground-breaking and genre-defining hard rock band Killswitch Engage is back in the studio recording AS DAYLIGHT DIES, the follow up to the 2004 breakout album, The End of Heartache, and 2005's GOLD certified DVD, (Set This) World Ablaze. The quintet, who have risen to the highest echelon of the hard rock genre and have influenced many bands in the process, will release their third album for Roadrunner, on November 21st. With The End of Heartache approaching GOLD certification, the members of Killswitch Engage are currently writing and recording at Zing Studios in their hometown of Westfield, MA. Guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz (Underoath, Unearth) is handling production and mixing duties, as he has on all previous KsE releases.
