Evel Knievel Vs Kanye
TMZ reports: World-famous daredevil Evel Knievel, 68, has sued rapper Kanye West -- over a cheesy jumpsuit and a rocket-propelled Skycycle. In a lawsuit filed Monday in Federal Court in Florida, the daredevil claims that Kanye infringed on his trademark name and likeness in West's video for "Touch the Sky." In the video, West portrays a character named "Evel Kanyevel" who attempts to jump a large canyon, not unlike Knievel's famous 1974 jump of Snake River Canyon in Idaho, which was not successful.

Knievel argues that the white jumpsuit he wore for the stunt and the "Skycycle" that he used are trademarked. Knievel also claims in the suit that "vulgar and offensive" images depicted in the video damage his reputation.[see full story for more good luck Evel!]- Click Here for the Full Story

Pink Floyd Rap?
Reuters reports: Having worked with Jay-Z, Kanye West and Jill Scott on his debut album, Lupe Fiasco wants to join forces with Pink Floyd on his next project -- "... or the remnants of Pink Floyd," he says.

The Chicago rapper knows the prospect of getting the dormant rock group to sign off on such an idea is remote, but that isn't stopping him from pressing forward. After all, he got jazz pianist Chick Corea to change his mind and approve a sample for the track "American Terrorist" from his acclaimed album "Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

iTunes Decline?
tinfoilmusic.net reports: The leading DRM digital download service, Apple's iTunes, has experienced a collapse in sales revenues this year according to analyst company Forrester Research. Secretive Apple doesn't break out revenues from iTunes, but Forrester conducted an analysis of credit card transactions over a 27-month period. And this year's numbers aren't good.

While the iTunes service saw healthy growth for much of the period, since January the monthly revenue has fallen by 65 per cent, with the average transaction size falling 17 per cent. The previous spring's rebound wasn't repeated this year.

And it isn't just Apple's problem. Nielsen Soundscan has grimmer news for prospective digital download services, indicating three consecutive quarters of flat or declining revenues for the sector as a whole. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

The Curse of Dani Filth
SMN reports: Metallysee Agency has announced the cancellation of this year's X-MASS FESTIVALS. This concerns not only Dutch death metal legends GOREFEST who have quite a history with cancelled tours now, but also BELPHEGOR. GOREFEST-guitarist Frank Harthoorn explains:

"Ever since SIX FEET UNDER pulled out of this tour a couple of months ago, this has been a bit of an ongoing mess. We thought we'd stick with the plan, since this would be about the last chance to do some proper touring for 'La Muerte' before we hit the studio for the next album. When we heard that headliner TRAIL OF TEARS split up last week, we already kind of felt this one slipping away, so we suggested to Metallysee we'd head out with a couple of the remaining bands. You know, join forces, cut prices, split the difference and what-not. Metallysee, however, wasn't having any of that, so come the end of 2006 we're looking at three cancelled tours, about 50 cancelled gigs, all within 11 months. That's something, isn't it? Almost looks like that curse Dani Filth put on us back in '94 is finally kicking in.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
