Murder? |
Blabbermouth reports: Did Justin Barber turn
to a GUNS N' ROSES tune to work up the nerve to murder his wife?
Prosecutors suggested as much at the business
analyst's capital trial Wednesday when they played a recording of the band's
1988 track "Used To Love Her" for jurors.
The song, in which a man brags about killing
his mate, was downloaded to Barber's computer just five hours before his
27-year-old wife, April, was shot dead on a deserted beach.[see full story

Fed Movie |
hecklerspray reports: If reports are true,
Kevin Federline has been working on a script for a film based on his life
with shades of 8 Mile thrown in for good luck and is seeking financial
backing for the project. From any angle, this is a ridiculous idea and
stone cold proof as to why you should never trust anyone who has ever danced
for money.
If the Kevin Federline movie is steeped
in historical fact, it'll be about a heterosexual boy who inexplicably
wanted to become a dancer, tried to cultivate a preposterous 'street' image
and then married someone legitimately famous and lived off her cash. However,
if the Kevin Federline movie is more of an 8 Mile film, he'll have to rap
in it.[see full story for more]- Click

Jacko Suit |
TMZ reports: Michael Jackson unmercifully
harassed a Los Angeles woman, tampering with her food and water and threatening
her life, according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ.
The bizarre case, filed by Helen Harris-Scott,
alleges that she began sending Jackson cards and letters in 1986, declaring
her "love and admiration" for the singer. The plaintiff claims Jackson
was "shy" and communicated with her through others and through his music.
Harris-Scott claims things turned ugly
around 1987 when Jackson, who was "connected with criminals," flattened
her tires and tampered with her brake system. She also says a GPS tracking
device was secretly installed in her car, tracking her every move. She
says her phone was also wiretapped. Harris-Scott claims it got even worse,
alleging Jackson had "organized criminals watching me inside my house in
L.A. and reporting to him." [She went coo-coo when he thought about her
cocoa puffs! See full story for more of this strangeness]

Day Save Girl |
TMZ reports: No one can argue that Green Day's
latest album "American Idiot" isn't chock full of social and political
messages. But one message the Bay Area punk group wasn't aware of may have
saved a English girl's life. It turns out the album cover, a stark red,
black and white image that shows a hand holding a grenade shaped like a
heart, helped a 12 year-old English girl identify some very dangerous small
munitions in her back yard.
Ruby Wilson, of Halifax, England, was doing
a little afternoon gardening when she found a live grenade lying among
the weeds. Ruby recognized the item as a grenade from a Green Day t-shirt
she owns. She took the grenade to her father who immediately called the
police. [see full story for more]- Click

Petty
Deal |
PR reports: Tom Petty has signed an exclusive
recording contract with Rick Rubin's American Recordings. The agreement
keeps Petty within the Warner Bros. Records family - his last four albums
were on the Warner Bros. label, including 1994's multi-Platinum, Grammy-winning
Rubin-produced "Wildflowers" - and Rubin recently brought his American
Recordings label back to Burbank.
The first release under the new agreement
will be "Highway Companion," Petty's third solo and 18th overall career
disc. Due out on July 25 and featuring twelve new Petty compositions, "Highway
Companion" was produced by Jeff Lynne with Petty and Mike Campbell; Lynne
also produced the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Petty albums "Full Moon
Fever" (1989) and "Into the Great Wide Open" (1991) (Tom Petty and the
Heartbreakers). [see full story for more]- Click

Fake
Gun Trouble |
The Gauntlet reports: QUEENSRCHE frontman
Geoff Tate has issued the following update regarding the recent report
that the entire band was arrested on June 11 at the Amsterdam, Netherlands,
airport for allegedly smuggling illegal firearms:
"What a day! At the airport in Amsterdam,
we were all lined up at the ticket counter checking in for the flight to
Oslo. The 35 pieces of luggage to check were being lined up and I turned
to Adam, our tour manager, and whispered 'Remember, there's a gun in our
bags,' referring to the replica Glock 45 handgun that we use on stage.
In a second of confusion, he says to the ticket agent, 'Oh, yeah, not to
worry but we have a gun in this suitcase. Before he could explain that
it wasn't a real gun but a replica, airport police swarmed in on us and
the questioning began. Apparently, unknown to us, any gun, whether real
or fake, is highly illegal in Holland. Quick-thinking Adam realized that
this was suddenly getting ugly and that we might get detained and miss
the flight, thus putting the show in Oslo in jeopardy. He instantly informed
them that the bag in question was his. Before I could blink, they arrested
him and took him away. [see full story for more]- Click
