that Clear Channel Communications was possibly on the sales block, new
reports are saying that bids for the company were supposed to be due today.
Two private equity groups were expected to make offers in the range of
$17 billion, according to Reuters. One group of bidders consists of Providence
Equity Partners, Blackstone and KKR, while the rival group consists of
Bain Capital, Thomas H. Lee Partners and Texas Pacific Group. The Blackstone

Sigh |
The End reports: SACRIFICE frontman/guitarist
Rob Urbinati has contributed a guitar solo to the song 'Dies Irae/The Master
Malice' for the forthcoming SIGH album 'Hangman's Hymn' due out in 2007
on THE END RECORDS.
The groundbreaking Japanese act recently
finished recording their 7th studio album and are currently mixing it at
Studio Moopies with engineer Takamichi Osada. About Urbinati's involvement
on the new album, SIGH frontman/leader Mirai Kawashima comments: "SACRIFICE
is one of my all-time favorite thrash bands and I had the chance to see
the band reunite in September at Day of the Equinox 2 in Toronto. They
were awesome and still had the fire! I met Rob and told him how much of
a fan I was and about the new SIGH album, how it was going to be fast and
full of speed and hatred." He adds, "We kept in contact after the show
and I told him I would be honored if he would be able to provide a guitar
solo for one of the tracks. And he did. The guitar solo is awesome! It's
such a killer solo!" [see full story to preview a pre-production quality

Pierces |
PR reports: Lizard King Records US, the new
branch of the UK label which signed The Killers in 2004, is ready to launch
their roster of new artists. Alabama-born-neo-New Yorkers The Pierces (sisters
Catherine and Allison) are the first artists to make their debut on Lizard
King Records US. They will launch their new album by supporting Albert

Apples
in Stereo Holiday |
PR reports: The Apples in Stereo are getting
in the “Holiday Mood” with the release of their first ever holiday song
via Yep Roc’s new Digital Singles Club, an online forum for exclusive,
unreleased music. Written by Apples frontman Robert Schneider, “Holiday
Mood” will be the first track available through the Digital Singles Club
which launches on November 14th. To purchase “Holiday Mood,” visit www.digitalsinglesclub.com.
Based on the singles clubs of the early
eighties, where unheard songs were quickly pressed onto seven inch vinyl
and distributed throughout independent record stores, the Digital Singles
Club has updated the practice by taking advantage of the internet, as well
as Yep Roc's access to mass quantities of unheard music, to make new music
available in a quick and easy way. Each week, the Yep Roc A&R department
will chose one song, regardless of whether the band is signed to Yep Roc
or not, to be posted on the Digital Singles Club webpage. All tracks can
be purchased for just $ 0.99.- Click
