Pumpkins Have Fans Arrested
Idolator.com reports: Smashing Pumpkins die-hards are in a tizzy--and some may even be in legal hot water--after allegedly stolen artwork from the band's forthcoming album, Zeitgeist, made its way to the Internet (UPDATE: the band has released a statement, which can be found at the full story link). According to a Pumpkins chronicler at rateyourmusic.com, this is how it went down:

Two fans snuck into the SP rehearsal space and took copies of some promotional photos that haven't been released. They posted one on this forum, and someone got into their photobucket, and viola, they were leaking all over the net. '

Now, the person who unwillingly leaked the photos is being held in the 18th precinct in Chicago. The Pumpkins/Their Management/The Record Company, someone, is pressing FELONY charges on them. For petty theft of a few pictures.

George Michael Guilty
hecklerspray.com reports: George Michael knows more about hard work more than anyone else who has ever lived, so it's only to be expected that occasionally his work-frazzled brain will shut down completely, leaving him slumped over the wheel of his car at midnight.

That's more or less what George Michael admitted earlier today in court as he pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while unfit through drugs. Somehow, however, George Michael managed to make it sound like he passed out at the wheel of a car at a junction in Cricklewood because he works too bloody hard all the time and not because he'd been busy throwing prescription drugs down his gobhole like Pac-Man at an all-night rave. And quite right too - putting out a string of underperforming singles for a decade can really take it out of a man, you know[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Kyuss Won't Reunite
Blabbermouth reports: Writer Joel McIver recently interviewed QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE/EAGLES OF DEATH METAL's Josh Homme for Music Mart magazine's June issue. Excerpts from the chat follow:

On the frequent offers from concert promoters to reform his previous band, KYUSS: "The offers come in all the time. They're getting more and more expensive, and more and more elaborate. The money is crazy, but I've never been tempted I don't really care about the money, I never have. That's not what KYUSS was about, so to punctuate the end of our sentence with that would be blasphemy. KYUSS fans are so f***in' rad, they're f***in' badass but to me, reunions are just not necessary. It's not what it was, it's what it is, and KYUSS was a really magical thing and if you weren't there, well, you weren't. That's just the luck of the draw. I don't feel the urge to do it for somebody who didn't have the opportunity to see us, or just didn't take the opportunity to see us. I'll let other bands alter their great legacies. KYUSS has such a great history that it would be a total error. I like that nobody saw KYUSS, and that it was largely misunderstood. That sounds like a legend forming to me. Is Def Jam floundering? That's what one tipster claims, bringing (unverified) word that some 40 people were laid off today at the record label - home to Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Fabolous, Bobby Valentino, and Young Jeezy - with a number of executives fleeing last week. "Jay-Z, L.A. Reid and Jermaine Dupri are still getting paid millions ... and running the company into the ground," says a source.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
