Rock Grammy Winners
antiMusic reports: We won't bore you with the pop, R&B, rap and other Grammy winners and get right to rock which actually outsells all of the genres that the out of touch academy (and TV programmers) seem to focus on. Though calling some of these "rock" is a bit questionable. But this is the organization that gave Jethro Tull a heavy metal award.

Metallica took home the best Metal Performance Grammy for "My Apocalypse," from "Death Magnetic." Hard Rock honors went to The Mars Volta's "Wax Simulacra." Alternative Music Album went to "In Rainbows" from Radiohead. And Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals went to "Sex on Fire" from Kings of Leon. Then Solo Rock Vocal Performance went to "Gravity," by John Mayer. (rock?)

Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" took Rock Record honors and the title track took Song of the Year and the rightfully titled Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Record of the Year went to "Please Read The Letter," from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and the album it came from, "Raising Sand," took tops honors for album of the year. - more on this story

Axl Vs Slash: Death Before Reuniting Classic GNR
Yahoo reports: Axl Rose has said that there is no chance that he and his former Guns N' Roses bandmate Slash will reunite saying that one of the pair will "die" before such an event could occur. The frontman told Billboard that the dispute between the pair would never be healed. He went on to say that Guns N' Roses, in its current guise, could tour in the near future.

"In regards to Slash," he said, "I read a desperate fan's message about, 'What if one of us were to die, and looking back I had the possibility of a reunion now.' My thoughts are, 'Yeah, and while you're at the show your baby accidentally kicks a candle and burns your house down, killing himself and the rest of your family.'

"Give me a f--king break. What's clear is that one of the two of us will die before a reunion and however sad, ugly, or unfortunate anyone views it, it is how it is. Those decisions were made a long time ago and reiterated year after year by one man.

"There are acts that, once committed between individuals, they are what they are. To add insult to injury almost day after day, lapsing into year after year, for more than a decade, is a nightmare. Anyone putting his own personal entertainment above everything else is sickening." - Read the full Q&A

Miley Cyrus Issues Indignant Apology for 'Racist' Photos
Hecklerspray reports: Just because Miley Cyrus is photographed pulling a face that's universally acknowledged to be offensive to Asians, it doesn't mean that Miley Cyrus is a racist. Or at least that's what Miley Cyrus has claimed in spectacularly bad-tempered apology, anyway.

So, to get her public image back on track, Miley Cyrus has taken to the internet to apologize. Well, maybe 'apologize' isn't the right word

"I've also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I'm sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context. In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'" - more on this story

REPO! Road Tour Diary: New Jersey
antiMusic reports: We've been telling you all about REPO! The Genetic Opera and the recent REPO! Road Tours. The third tour just wrapped up and REPO star and co-writer Terrance Zdunich (plays Grave Robber) gives us the lowdown! Here is today's entry from New Jersey.

Today, Alexa Vega takes over the role of Repo Road Tour 3 driver- perhaps her most difficult "part" to date. Not because Alexa isn't a great driver. She is. And not because she isn't patient, pleasant, & one hell of a navigator. Alexa's all of these things, and more. But Alexa, poor Alexa, is about to embark on a very long, very stressful car ride in a jeep full of surly REPO! dudes.

January 16, 2009: It's noon. Spooky Dan, Darren Bousman, Alexa, & I, meet downstairs in our hotel's lobby. The snowman from the night before remains, standing tall, just outside of the hotel's doors. It is completely un-meltedin other words, it's still cold outside, really cold. Shivering, the 4 of us load-up our rented car, drive to a local diner for a quick breakfast, then get on the highway for what will end up being a 7-hour drive to Rutherford, New Jersey, the 4th stop on Repo Road Tour 3. - Read more of this entry
