NME reports: Rapper Asher Roth reportedly helped detain a would-be bomber [a.k.a. terrorist scumbag] on a flight bound for Los Angeles' LAX airport Wednesday(January 7).

The Pennsylvania rapper was headed to Los Angeles to perform on late-night television show 'Last Call With Carson Daly' when a man threatened to explode a bomb on his plane.

Sleazeroxx reports: Coldplay, AC/DC and Amy Winehouse together sold over sixteen million albums around the world in 2008, end of year figures show.

Overall, the top five biggest selling albums of last year were all made by British artists - and sold a combined 25.5million copies.

Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends' was the year's biggest album, selling 6.6million copies, while Winehouse's 'Back To Black', first released in 2006, sold 5.1million. AC/DC's long awaited 'Black Ice' was third, selling 5 million copies, while the fourth biggest seller, 'Rockferry' by Duffy, sold 4.5million. - more on this story

PR reports: Bad Boy Records has announced the upcoming release of "Notorious: Music From And Inspired By The Original Motion Picture."

Britney Drops Like A Rock As Nickelback Overtake Her

Jam! reports: According to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan, almost all of the artists in the Canadian top 10 saw their sales decrease significantly, with Britney Spears and AC/DC taking the biggest hit on the album charts.

Britney's "Circus," No. 1 last week, dipped from 30,000 to 8,100 this week -- a massive drop of 73 per cent. AC/DC's "Black Ice" took a similar blow, sinking from No. 3 to No. 8 with sales of 5,400, compared to 30,000 last week -- a drop of 74 per cent.

At the top, Nickelback's "Dark Horse" moved into No. 1 from No. 2, with sales falling 69 per cent from last week to just under 9,000 copies. - more on this story
