Neil Young Joins Pearl Jam On Stage |
Things hit the roof during the second set of encores: they began with a real rarity, "Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns," from the pre-PJ band, Mother Love Bone, bounced into "Alive," and then launched into hyperdrive with Neil Young's "Rockin' In The Free World" with an appearance by Neil himself.
When Young walked onto the stage, it was as if the ACC roof was going to give way, with the crowd bursting into thunderous ovation. Mike McCready ran side stage and handed his guitar to Neil, who came out during the extended solo section, and Neil joined the guys by bouncing around and throwing lead licks off every corner of the building. McCready ran and snagged another guitar so he could re-join the fun, and fun it was ear-to-ear smiles from everyone in the room, including all PJ members.

Evanescence Tease Fans |
"This video is sort of, like, the history of the band," She said. "This club [set] is emulating old shows we used to play in the beginning we used to play this club called Vino's in Little Rock it's sort of like back then, the gritty, dirty club, sweaty. And basically, it's also [about] New York, where I've been, [and] where [bassist] Tim [McCord] lived in the past few years since we've been gone. And it's sort of about escaping New York and coming back out into the world."
"This is more a personal video. We've done a lot in the past that [were] very 'fantasy,' and this is sort of the real us. I just wanted to do something that really felt personal for a change."

Singled Out: Anubis Gate's Golden Days |
Anubis Gate has gone through major changes since our last and critically acclaimed concept album "The Detached" from 2009. Not only did we sign a new record deal with Nightmare, we also had to replace Jacob Hansen, the former lead vocalist. Luckily our bass player and lyric writer was ready to take over and finish the album that was already recorded.
The first single from our selftitled forthcoming album is called "Golden days". It's a song about having major dreams and a naive belief in the future - a feeling of immortality and invincibility that especially young people experience and which is crucial if you want to make it to the top. But when they grow older they tend to feel more careful or vulnerable, 'cause they've learnt some of life's lessons or have children to take care of. And all of a sudden invincible has changed to invisible - the golden days are but a memory; an old feeling of grandeur and lost youth, but replaced by a more solid wisdom and maturity that was lacking in the young dreamer. The single version is an alternate version to that of the album and it will be accompanied by a video, which is in making as we speak
The single "Golden days" is backed with a cover of Nik Kershaw's hit "Wouldn't it be good" (non-album track). We usually record some cover versions just for the fun of it, and always songs that are close to the heart of the band for one or another reason. And we all loved this one so we decided we might as well release it. We might release a lot of the other "rare and unreleased" at a later point in time. The single represents the heavy rock part of Anubis Gate on an album that also contains both faster, more epic, more heavy and more metal stuff. In fact, all the things that people has come to expect from an Anubis Gate album. "Golden days" is released on iTunes August ? and the album (CD also) on September 13, 2011.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
